| quote: | Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has cooled speculation linking the West London big spenders with a move for Adriano.
The prolific Brazilian has impressed again this term for Internazionale and reportedly tops Mourinho's wish list for the summer.
Both Mourinho and Roman Abramovich were in attendance at Stadio Olimpico on Saturday - with Adriano reportedly the subject of their observations.
However, whilst conceding Adriano is indeed an accomplished performer, Mourinho insists a bid is unlikely to materialise.
''Adriano? He's a great player but we have many forwards and we are satisfied with the players that we have,'' Mourinho told Sky Italia.
''Adriano will not be our forward for next season.''
Whilst Adriano appears to be destined to remain in Milan, Mourinho has not ruled out the prospect of recalling Juan Sebastian Veron.
The talented Argentine never produced his best form in England and was duly shipped back to Italy upon Mourinho's arrival at Stamford Bridge.
However, the Chelsea chief admits he is keeping a keen eye on both the midfielder and compatriot Hernan Crespo, who is on-loan at Milan.
''Why am I here? To see Veron who is a Chelsea player,'' he continued.
''But also to see Inter, who are a possible Champions League opponent. |
