That's an interesting statement for two reasons:
a) Us tidy people have a similar view of messy people. We have trouble understanding why you can't keep control of your surroundings, and see it as a problem. Of course, your answer is easy: "it's pointless." |
I keep things tidy to the point of practicality. If I'm struggling to easily locate or access something, the messiness has become a hindrance and I'll tidy it up. If things are still functional, there's no problem. So I'm actually always in control of my surroundings, and my behaviour is dictated almost entirely by practicality.

What do you mean "people like me"? You're assuming a bunch of shit about me that isn't even true, lol. I'm sorry that you can't form relationships with normal people, but that's not my fault. Maybe it's something about your own personality that attracts those types? |
I'm not assuming a damn thing. I'm talking about people who display the behaviour you've admitted to multiple times on this forum. Do you think I haven't seen you in other threads banging on about you have to everything neat and tidy? I'm sure you're a wonderful person in most respects, but you'd drive me fucking nuts in a domestic environment.
And it's nothing to do with my personality. I've been a student, I've lived with something like fifteen different people in the last four years, most of whom I haven't known very well beforehand. Some of them have been like this, and they've been fucking annoying. Most people are fine - I have no problems with my current housemates - but I've seen what it's like to live in the same space as a variety of different personalities.
Maybe you are born with it and can't help it, but my point is you'd probably save yourself time and stress if you just relaxed about these things and stopped caring quite so much.
