I downright saddened by the women from my high school class. Granted, I'm 29 in weeks, so tons of them have popped out 2 kids by now, but it's kind of sad.

And how does that translate into observable behaviour? Here, let me make a quick analogy:
Let's say a 16 year old can't reason as well as an 18 year old because her brain isn't fully developed. Now, instead of relationships and whatnot, let's talk about mathematics, for clarity sake. Is is justified to say that the 18 year old is necessarily a better mathematician than the 16 year old? Now, back to the whole maturity thing, can you say that the 18 year old is necessarily going to display a more mature behaviour (whatever that is) than the 16 year old? Just as the 16 year old may be more passionate and diligent student of maths, whereas the 18 year old is just a slacker (thus turning the odds against the 18 year old), the 16 year old in question may be more concerned about others, while the 18 year old could just have fully developed brain and no interest on this issue. Is it correct in any way to say that the 18 year old is more mature than the 16 year old simply because of biological differences? Unless you're talking strictly about biology, age is no sufficient condition here.
By the way, how is that difference relevant among the legal girls we're talking about? They're pretty much all over 18 anyway |
This is a great example of how you miss it. You are taking very small specific cases and projecting them to be more the rule than the exception. If you were to take 100 people of different ages, give them a situation, you could more often than not, predict who will react in a specific manner. As I said before, this is not to say EVERYONE is this way, but a majority. Now how is age not a factor? Age IS a factor.
