It's actually because, like australia, there are no decent english coaches at the moment! An Englishman has just taken control but I'm sceptical as to how successful he will be.

What have I actually said that lacks objectivity? I said hargreaves played very well, lampard did not, and overall England were a dissapointment.

Nothing to do with 'what ifs', the fact is that if Argentina had played Germany out of the game instead of inviting them back it into it, Germany wouldn't have gone through.

I wouldn't be that quick to put Argentina down, when you have the whole team defending, there isn't as much space or room to play the game they would have liked eg Arg-Mex example of two attacking teams gong at each other, hard to say that both teams actually lacked substance

I dislike Argentina I'll admit that, so my view is bias against them. They were more impressive than Germany for most of the game, but like I said, they didn't really create much in the way of scoring chances. The one goal they did score was from a set piece. For a team so hyped up in terms of playing the 'beautiful game' that's not much to show for it.

Yeh your partially right, their first goal against Germany scored was a mirror image of the goal scored against Mexico. In the second stage against teams that are of much better quality than Serbia they struggled but i don't think that has anything to do with the way they played the game, rather they lacked a striker of the same quality as there midfield. Crespo, you were a great player but this wc you lacked the flair that you possesed at your peak. Brazil were in the same boat with players like Cafu, if only they had decided to blood the younger players like Cincinho instead of going with experience in age, it would have changed the way Brazil would have played.

that was a great game, especially stoppage time! the ref was one of the better ones and wasn't fooled by Italian diving too easily. The two goals were amazing!

Love Poundin' Sensation

Italys coach is riding a winning streak (26 games is it?)

What a risk to throw in Del Piero in the dying minutes, guess it paid off nicely.

Lets hope Portugal beats France

The weight of you on the krauts backs was a little to big a load for them to bear. Who are you weighing down now?

Italy deserved it today, they were the only team to expose the fact that germany has an ordinary defence, look at the players italy ended up on the park with

Del Piero
Totti
Iaquinta
Gilardino

The german defence gave grosso too much time on that shot!

had it went to penalties though, the germans would have won
