Guys, he's NOT from the US, and spends little time here. The word gay may not have the same meaning to him, I doubt he was trying to be offensive. About the beatmatching ability - he's not the greatest beatmatcher but his skills aren't absolutely horrible or even mediocre, they're above average, adequate, and once in awhile phenomenal. Like someone else said, that's not the only thing that goes into being a great dj. The best example of this is Tiesto - Live @ Innercity, Amsterdam, the released cd. Even though it's old, his tracklisting is phenomenal, a masterpiece, and in my opinion his mixing on this album is flawless, especially for a live set. The world changes as do people, just embrace what he's doing, if it's not your style look elsewhere for it. I've loved about half the stuff he's released recently and had no interest in the other half. He's still a contributor none the less. Magik Journey, Suburban Train, have been great quality releases to the scene over the past couple of years, and I'm eagerly awaiting the Nyana release, can't wait to hear it. I really didn't even mind that he left Gouryella, Ligaya is still a great track. From the post about his recent DJ sets, I saw him a few months ago and I have to say it was mediocre, but I'm thinking twice about seeing him in NYC on the 16th as maybe he's starting to really get a hold of his new style... I think I'd start to get bored with a 6 hour set of all '98-'99 anthems anyway...
