Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. Armin's sets are getting stale and he needs to progress and diversify. There's nothing derogatary about it, it's like anything. You just can't keep doing the same thing over and over again because the excitement factor will eventually wear off.
I don't think you read phil's post did u
I thought it was blatently obvious what he pointed out, and trust me that post took two hours to write
I'm not going to say anymore on this issue, because i know in 2 months time you will all find another dj to pick on, and good help you all if its marco v

The point is that some people are obviously happy to hear the same set repeated and if that's your thing, good luck to you. I just think that in a typical set there's enough room to place the tunes of tomorrow alongside the anthems, instead of supplementing the anthems with the tunes he was playing six months ago. Just look at the amount of tracks not ID'd from Tiesto's concert.
The reality is, of the 8000 people in the vodaphone arena at TT the large majority would have only recognised born slippy and maybe seven cities and strange world. The other 90% of the set they wouldn't have had a clue about, other than the fact that it was great music. The fact is the people like us who debate this pointless shit make up a tiny tiny percent of the whole crowd.
What do you want to hear at TT?
We want to hear GREAT TRANCE. That's it. Most people wouldn't have a clue whether the track he was playing was unreleased or years old. They only care that it's a tune. So why not please everyone by playing new stuff. We're going to love trying to ID it, and the rest of the crowd are going to love it because it's a tune. Most of the crowd at TT wouldn't have ever heard half the tracks anyway.
At TT in three hours, Armin could have easily played the anthems and classics as well as future favourites and stuff that he has been hammering the last month or so. Armin is and always has been a genius, I'd just love to see him advance.

I think its pretty safe to say "NO FUCKIN CHANCE!!!!!"
Why would he (or any other really big name) come here when they can get paid a McFuckload more in Europe or the states?? we just dont get the crowds here to make getting the huge names for NYE profitable!

Was that year he did one gig at melb and flew to syd or something?
We certainly get massive crowds but I don't think there in the league of a gatecrasher NYE.
