Just because a guy doesn't produce/do stuff up to the level that 'satisfies' your tastes doesn't mean he sucks ass or is a sellout. Get a grip.

The FACT is that Tiesto is the most popular trance DJ right now... and he always packs the house to maximum capacity. For fucks sake, he packed a whole stadium.... If he were so shitty..... why does he have all this success???

Like Swamper said, he has done alot for the genre of music that you love.

And to test you out.... please pick out the "mistakes" in Tiesto live @ Trance Energy 2000... or how about TiesTo GLobal Dj Boradcast May 25 2002.

Here's another: global DJ broadcast 04/20/03

Perfect mixing....when he's on, HE'S ON.

IT's as good as the recent Ton TB global DJ set.

He cant structure a set to save his life, his beatmatching is attrocious, and his cueing leaves a lot to be desired. But what is most odd, is that before 2001 he was the complete opposite of everything i hav just said. The only thing he is good at is choosing great tunes. But at the end of the day any guy with an asshole can stand up in front of people and knock out wikid tunes in any random order. And like i said this is not opinion. Give me any set he has done and i will gladly pick out the wank transitions for u, which at his level shud not be making as many mistakes as he does.

I agree with your statement that he was way better in 2001 (he was incredibly better in terms of mixing back then, which adds a lot). As for the "which at his level should not be making as mnay mistakes as he does" I say every dj fucks up. It happens. I have a 35 PvD sets, in 3 of them he fucks up royally, one transition is even out of For an Angel! So why the need for bashing? Can't you just accept what he was good at doing and say "damn what happened to Tiesto..."instead of bashing him? Or selling out (this one isn't directed at you man) this one annoys me. Selling out is "betraying of ones principles" how the hell did he betray his own principles?? Just my two cents. Sick of the dj bashing. I'm not a massive fan or Hardcore but you don't see me bashing it either.

Dont get me wrong mate, i know all DJ's fuck up. Infact PvD is my personal fav DJ, and in 35 sets there are bound to be more than just 3 slip ups. But thats ok coz he's just human. But with Tiesto i hav never heard a set from him without a big fuck up. Infact at Gatecrasher, he trainwrecked (proper nasty galloping of the beats) from Mistral into Urban Train (quite ironic given the name of the track ). I no i come across really harsh and it pisses a lot of die hard Tiesto fans, but I guess it upsets me that my second favourite DJ (well back in the good old days of 99/00) has turned into what he has. Its very frustrating. I know it is important DJ's to move with the times, but i feel Tiesto has taken to big a change and much for the worst. As a result of his massive change in style, it seems to me he just cant mix with these types of tunes as well as when he played proper decent epic trance. My 2 cents anyway. No offence intended.

Oh and as for the selling out comments, i also find them quite annoying. If a DJ has the opportunity to make a couple bucks on the side why the fuck shud he not take it? I mean who wouldnt?

All global DJ Broadcasts are done via CDR mate. Therefore if Tiesto fucks up he can just do it again. Of course his global DJ Broadcast sets are gonna be better than the normal Club set becoz he can afford to take more time and preperation over the tracklists and the mixing.

I found this bullshit. When i go to see a DJ set i go for the tunes yes, but just as importantly to me is the mixing and the structure of the set. I am a DJ myself ffs, so i do notice such things, and so do most people.

That is definitely a matter of opinion. I would not say he is the most popular trance DJ at all rite now. Personally i would say its Paul van Dyk but thats for another debate

Im not gonna argue this coz its absoloutley true. But what does this hav to do with how bad he has gotten today? He has done wonderful things for the genre we all love, but he has done it thru the earlier years and not now.

Read my thread again mate. I said Tiesto's mixing was good up until 2001. His Trance Energy 2000 set is undoubtedly one of the greatest sets of all time alongside his Mysteryland 99 set and his Hyperstate 2000 set. Was there even a GDJB on 25th May? I thought it was the 20th. Either way that set was again done by CDR.

Dont flame me for my opinions. I genuinely dont mean to offend anyone. If u think ive said something wrong just tell me. Tell me why u think im wrong etc.

Peace

Well, maybe he's going deaf???/ If he doesn't use earplugs he's asking for it...(or any other DJ for that matter that works in a club setting very often). I think you'd have to be very hard of hearing before it would affect your mixing though eh? I've heard and seen him fuck up before too, so it's not like I'm a totally blind fan or something...I saw him back in 2001, and again in 2003. He still knows how to move a crowd, but nothing will ever be as good as hearing classic anthem after anthem like in 2001...

So when it's a studio recording, I guess they do several takes and use the best one?? Does armin do live turntable mixes or does he use pro tools? His cds are always beautifully mixed. I know global dj is pre-recorded (except for markus).

BTW he's flowerpot....

I am sick of people complaining about dj's mixing skills.Who gives a flying f!!@#$. I go to see a dj hoping he will play my favourite tracks and thats it. I honestly could care less about their mixing. Tiesto's mixing isn't as bad as you "people" say it is. I can not believe how critical you "people" are, WHO frigg'n CARES!!. I hear flight 643 and I go crazy!!! I could care less if it was a bad transition. I would rather see tiesto then some other trance dj who can mix better, because tiesto plays the tracks I like. I just saw tiesto on june 13th and he blew me away. The guy really knows how to get a crowd moving.. hes unbelievable . If you havent seen Tiesto recently you should. Please Dont judge a dj by listening to sets on mp3s. My favourite djs are Tiesto, PVD, AVB and Ferry, am I the only one who likes all 4 of these guys? These guys are my heros .
