we'll world premeire our new motorcycle song called "deep breath love" that night.
we've spent all week on it with jes and very excited about it!
this song is inspired by all the people who sang our songs at the top of their lungs in new york!
and also a special someone who has entered my life recently.
: )

If New Yorkers were an inspiration to this new song, than dont you think you should save it for the next time your in NY?

glow is not particularly the best venue in DC, but they do have some good names. and i dont know about you- but i dont go clubbing to enjoy the actual club. i go to see the names that i love to listen to. so if me going to support g&d at glow makes me a fucking idiot, poser, loser, tool....then i guess i am all of the above!!!
Well then you answered it.. I said if you REALLY like Glow.. the names are another issue...

naw I had to say my piece... if I don't then I am denying how I feel about that place and the ppl. Liking the Dj's that play there is understandable (thats how I am). But the place is too commercial, too many guys trying to grab girls. If that place was dedicated to EDM it would not have a Hip Hop and Latino room. It bothers me, and I can't respect someone that would defend that place past the names they bring.

Haha, me either. You know the saying about opinions, how they're similar to assholes because everyone has one and they all stink? Well, I'm sure that with all of the technological advancements since that postulation arose that it's been scientifically proven by now.
Glow's not that bad, but I do agree that the vibe is nowhere near to that of what Buzz's was.
Glow's management doesn't seem too friendly unless you're a hot chick or an extremely well dressed Persian dude with a hottie on each arm. I'm not even talking about Antonis or Silvia as they've always been more than accomodating when approached.

They're just after the money, that's been obvious since day one. Why else would you make the dresscode so stringent and charge $12 for a Stoli & Reb Bull if it wasn't for the dough. I've heard many negative things (in the past) from people who did work for them so I know it's a fact that they're 100% capital oriented.
And no I'm not defending them at all. I'm just defending the only world class Trance DJ lineup that's readily accessible to me on a Saturday night. If it were a dingy alleyway (with some steam emanating from a manhole cover posing as a substitute for the smoke machine) - I would still defend it as long as world class DJ's frequently played their records there.
I'm just a TrancEaddict! I cannot help it.

I think the dingy alleyway would probably be more fun... Quality music, underground vibe, and semi-decent sound= kickass party!

Hmmm...maybe I'm becoming a tool after all! I just need to add some Armani Exchange to my wardrobe.
The truth is...I love going to Glow and I always have a great time!
Yes...I admit Glow is not perfect. Some of the people that hang out at Glow only go to show off and be pretentious. There are nights where half the people in the main room don't know who is spinning and don't care. Insomnia may not be as nice as other venues in DC (e.g. Nation).
In spite of those factors, Glow is a great party if you love trance. The fact that Glow has great trance DJs as residents is what keeps me going back. Ever since I went to see Ferry Corsten and Tiesto at Glow in November 01, I started becoming a trance fiend. IMO Glow has made it possible for DC to have a great trance scene.

If you're complaining about the orchidaceous attitudes and the flamboyant demeanor at Glow @ Insomnia then you should have experienced it when it was still held @ Zei Club as it was much worse. Rico Suave's were the majority rather than the minority as they are now. Believe me, it's gotten much better!
LMAO
back then we braved that place for the likes of Talla, Acosta, Edgar V, Tiesto, Christopher Lawrence, Taucher, etc., etc.
What we endured for the sake of Trance...

With all due respect to fans of G&D...their productions and remixes sound alright, but I'm not exactly crazy about their style. Their style is too mellow for me.
I might check out G&D at Glow to hear what everyone is talking about. We shall see...

I have dynamic musical tastes as well as an elasticized energy reserve. I can chill deeply to some Solar Stone and then get heavily housed to Humpty Vission all in the same evening.
