There are people out there who are poor (or cheap) or don't have time (or are lazy), so eating healthy isn't the easiest thing to do.

I eat healthily when I can, but I take supplements as well.

hmz, not having time to eat properly? then youre not doing great imo.
and how can you be too poor to buy proper food? Then you are saying those 'supplements' are cheaper then normal healthy food? dont think so.
and ofcourse lazyness plays a big part in it. its easier to swallow some pills rather then 'wasting' time in eating properly.

I hope you mean ppl in general, and not me specifically

And, yes, the vits are actually cheaper than buying healthy food, at least in the UK. Boots has buy 2 get on free type deals, and you can get totally sorted with 3 different supplement comboc for like £7 for a whole month. £7 gets you jack healthy food, even if just for one week.

no krooton, ofcourse i was generalising it. if you feel offended, i apologize .
but ehm eating healthy shouldnt be about money in the first place, it should be a standard.

Thats whats become a problem.

Food full of preservatives and stuff are much cheaper than their organic counterparts, and people would rather by products that are cheaper, have a longer shelf-life, etc.

Again, I'm only speaking for the UK, but in South Africa its even worse.

A ten kg bag of potatoes is now around R70.

Now, an average salary in SA is say R30 000, which works out to roughly R18 an hour. So this is about 3 hours work for a bag of potatoes.

Now, 3 hours of me working in UK on a below average salary (£12 500/pa) equals £18.

So £18 for ten kgs of potatoes, when you can get ten kgs in the UK for about £2.80. See, and thats just potatoes, there are other more expensive veges and fruit.

hm idd, and its all even worse for fresh, clean water, which is really essential...
and all the big companies (the french are the biggest suppliers) are asking excessive prices for water. the governement of those poor african countries are selling the rights for water to the multinationals so people are forced to pay for the water, which they got from their self-created well. really really sad...

Supplements are fine (I take the multi-vitamins from Trader Joe's), but taking too much doesn't really do anything for you. There's no point in taking a pill has 400% of your vitamin E or 800% of your vitamin C daily requirement, when your body's only gonna absorb what it can and flush out the rest (my Phy Sci professor in college told me that )
