The thing about it is that hes trying 2 bring a new style tho just like he did with Just be and it worked. they songs areunt TOO HIGHT up. but the vocals acaully are the best thing in 2007. The Track Carpe Noctum is like traffic but it hink he could of prefected the shit ouf it. but generalllyy its an amazing album...oh and Ten Seconds Before Sunrise is like Forever today TIMES 12

Hello!

I agree PVD is a damn good DJ. But having seen him and had the chance to compare his set to others I have heard he doesn't strike me as being anything really special in the way that some people describe (That's done it... the gasoline has been thrown onto the fire). From a technical point, one of the best DJs I have ever seen is Fergie (Love or hate the music he plays) and that kid also knows how to move a crowd. If you ever get the chance to see him go and watch some of the stuff he does with the eqs etc. Ferry Corsten knows how to interact with crowds and tends to loose the plot but in a good way. Push is just awesome. And how about Mr Tiesto?

From a personal point of view, I always find the stuff PVD plays to give the feeling of something being held back, and in that respect it just frustrates me. Perhaps it's because I like my trance a little harder?

No doubt I will get flamed to death but hey... what's life without a little friendly banter? At the end of the day I know we all like different things and respect that but just wanted to put my thoughts into the thread.

All the best

try seeing pvd in ny. you need to either see pvd spin a longer set of 4 + hours or you need to experience a short set at a MASSIVE party. those are the best ways to know what he is made of.

Hey Umes23

Thanks for the post. And yes you are right you do need to see DJs in different situations to really know what they are made of. I have been around long enough to know quality when I see it. But I also know that PVD doesn't do it for me (as I said, I have seen him play)and it is purely my opinion (as I seem to be the only one)

Enjoy anyways
Cheers

PS
By the way, can anyone confirm the existance of some stupid cabbaret licence law in the state of NY? Apparently it's not legal to dance at a club unless they have the correct licence due to some law from the 1920s (something related to prohibition), it started being reinforced because of Mayor Guiliani's dislike for nightlife.

hehehe. in recent times, that was my favorite night. it WAS truly wicked. the crowd was off the hook. the energy level was soooo high, everything was great. the new space was da shit, and pvd got there and was bouncing off the walls from the moment he mixed out of the viframa-cristalle intro. it was soooo awesome. makes me miss the twilo days like crazy. 7 hours + those WERE the BEST NIGHTS. but pvd never disappoints me.... i even enjoyed ultra despite the skipping disaster, i just wish his set wasnt so damn short.
