If you're going to point out the PvD kick, why don't you point out the many other artists who recycle instruments.

To name a few....
L.Vee/Airwave - Same kick
John Askew - Same kick
Filterheadz - Same hollow bass
Nu-Nrg - Same lead synths
Mirco de Govia - Same lead synths

Telling an artist to change his instrument is equivalent to telling Chopin not to use the piano and expand his horizons with the violin.

Give it a rest.

P.S. If people ever bother to do a spectrum analysis on his kicks, you will find the frequences can be vastly different.
