Listen, since ur only 12, i dont expect u know much or have researched this much or at all, but ill answer all ur points 1 by 1 and explain why im right.

Originally posted by tiesto14 Really?....with that theory one could say make all drugs legal at cheap prices, better yet setup a drug-stamp program, similar to food-stamps, for the people who really can't afford it....GREAT IDEA!!

Well, its not a bad idea

quote:
I am sure with that implemented people would surely take safe doses and not become addicted

No, of course they would still become addicted. But the difference is they would know the exact potency of their drugs, and therefore the number of drug overdoses would be massivly reduced.

quote:
and of course there would be no crime since people from all walks of life could afford it

Exactly. But thats not the only reason. Another thing to consider is that there wouldnt be many, if any, drug dealers and gangs who make shitloads of money from selling drugs and r usually involved in other types of crime, like gun crime, because there would be very, very little profit.

quote:
and to top it off the governments could profit

Yep, not just from selling drugs, but they would save trillions that otherwise wouldve been spent chasing after drug users, dealers and gangsters.

quote:
(maybe even to the point of curing their national debts)

ho ho ho..

quote:
then we could setup after school programs where kids go to learn how to shoot up with accuracy

Well, thats going a bit far but of course heroin users would have access to clean needles (no more hiv spreading)

quote:
How you find a nicotine addict and a heroin addict to be similar is BEYOND me.....

The difference is caused by laws.

quote:
WHEN heroin WAS legal in the U.S. (even sold through Sears catalogs) people where killing, robbing and commiting countless other crimes to support their habits...and this is when heroin WAS LEGAL...now when was the last time you heard of a nicotine addict killing for a smoke?...you find one, just one, account where someone has either robbed or killed PURELY on the basis to attain nicotine...

Ive never, EVER heard of a smoker killing for tobacco. Why? Because nicotine doesnt cost $300 a day.

quote:
Heroin is bad....plain and simple..unless use for medicinal purposes.

Bollocks.

quote:
This is not to say i think nicotine is good...just that your theory is quite absurd....on the other hand i beleive that nicotine/smoking should be illegal...it is a horrific product that ONLY, in the end, kills you.....this coming from a 12 year smoker....

Making smoking illegal would only put its users into the same situation that heroin users r in now. That is fucking stupid. Considering nicotine is maybe 5 times more addictive than heroin, imagine what the prices would shoot up to, and imagine how much money gangsters would make off it. Making it illegal is an extremely bad idea.

But if producing heroin isn't illegal, it wouldn't cost $300 a day (mass production, production in 3rd world countries etc)

The average age of a heroin user in holland is about 44, while in the uk its 21 i think. Thats a hell of an achievement.

maybe....but the deaths from tobacco and alchohol are staggering...so more then likely they would be higher since the drug would be easier to get.....

so in other words - legalize 1 crime to deter anothers?....absurd.

doubtful since a large portion of the drugs are brought into the country by the CIA (in America)...government alreayd gets that money...they would LOSE money in all actuality if drugs became legal....

legalizing heroin doesnt prevent HIV...education and commen sense does

And clean needles are vaialble across the country...there are many programs are sponsered...here in NYC, from time to time, i see a truck that hands them out to addicts that are homeless or any addict that needs clean needles....

No the difference is caused by the effects....show me case of a nicotine addict commiting a crime to get a cigarette...furthermore show me one instance of someone quiting nicotine that has died from withdrawel symptoms.

No i wasnt insulting u i just misunderstood, read it too quick.

quote:
maybe....but the deaths from tobacco and alchohol are staggering...so more then likely they would be higher since the drug would be easier to get.....

The deaths from alcohol and tobacco r because of how lethal the drugs r in themselves. Ur saying more heroin users would die even tho there would be hardly any overdoses? How exactly?

quote:
so in other words - legalize 1 crime to deter anothers?....absurd.

Huh? What r u talking about? What im saying is that since u could get almost all drugs so cheaply, at least 10 times less than they cost now, there would be fuck all profit for dealers and gangs, basically putting them out of business.

Heard about alcohol probition? Go and ask al capone how he made his money.

quote:
doubtful since a large portion of the drugs are brought into the country by the CIA (in America)...government alreayd gets that money...they would LOSE money in all actuality if drugs became legal....

I wasnt just talking about america. But now that u mention it, maybe what ur saying has something to do with WHY wont make it legal, and feeding the public all the bullshit that they do.

quote:

Thats not enough. When someones going to buy legal heroin, it would have to be supplied with enough clean needles for that amount of the drug.

quote:
No the difference is caused by the effects....show me case of a nicotine addict commiting a crime to get a cigarette...furthermore show me one instance of someone quiting nicotine that has died from withdrawel symptoms.

lol, u really havnt a clue about what ur talking about. I argue with prohibitionists like u every fucking day and the majority of them dont even say things like this. What ur saying is, the high of heroin makes u want to kill or rob people?
Nicotine addicts dont have to commit crimes to pay for their addiction because of the PRICE. Tobacco here costs up to £110/kg. Do u know how much heroin costs? Up to £300,000/kg.
Heroin withdrawl doesnt kill, but alcohol withdrawl can.

quote:
It is not as addictive.....and heroin doesnt cost $300 a day....

YES IT IS. Its FAR more addictive. Heroin can easily cost $300 a day, of course this differs depending on where u r. But even if it costs $100 a day, thats gonna cause crime. If it cost $5 a day like cigarettes, or even $15, that crime would disappear.

quote:
When heroin WAS legal in America people where STILL commiting countless crimes to get after they would go through their life savings paying for the habit and wanted the drug so bad they would rob and kill for it....this is when you could buy it at stores in the early 20th century...

Do tobacco smokers have to go through their life savings to pay for it? NO. Its all about the fucking price.

quote:
as your arguement...which i completly debunked...you have proved zero...

quote:
No it wont because smoking doesnt have the same chemical affects on ones body and mind....

Uhhhh, Wtf? This is getting ridiculous. Jusat remember, nicotine is MORE addictive than heroin. Prohibiting it would cause chaos.

Yup guess you win the prize.

The fact that I don't sit down and refute every sentence in someone's post and make irrelevant comments about them all makes me immature.

Flame on.
