The only real sterotype that has been used towards me is the "kandy kid with glowsticks" one, and oddly enough,
the only person that does that to me also happens to like a little bit of trance, except for when we are with a group of friends, of course

LOL...nice. Seems like the easiest way to get them out of your hair is to just say "yes" rather than trying to tell them why exactly they need to just go home.

of course there is gonna be stereotypes,we are all a wide variety of people thats why! there are so many different people who have one thing in common and its trance!! so many people on here do ecstacy and love trance then there are so many who dont do drugs and love trance!! Then there are some who wear 10 pounds of beads and others who wear jeans and a t-shirt...so you cant win :P did i make sense?!btw people i talk to think prog=trance techno=trance and goa=trance!!

frankly I don't care about stereotypes because most stereotypes in this world, are made by people who have no clue or refuse to actually learn about cultures or anything else.
People think, whoever listens to techno, trance and progressive does huge amounts of drugs....I don't....people think people like me...go to raves....never been to one in my life. Friends of mine, had these perceptions but I have shattered them. They used to think that people who went to clubs, could not fit it church, music, friends and family but I have...so I mean....if people want to be close minded and ignore you then move on because you don't need them. My own parents thought people in the club scene do drugs all the time, they have realized over the last few years and some people do but others just go to hang with friends and see deejays.

You guys are being hippocrites (sp?). Everybody thinks of trance as the stereotypes you all listed. What about rap? Everything you guys say about rap is stereotype. Thats hippocrisy (sp?).
In fact my friends and I listen to rap and when we discuss it, its a whole other thing. We critique the production of the track as well as analyze the lyrics. You guys gotta remember that the rap on the radio isnt the only rap thats out
