Lets not forget Guv Saturdays. The only way to do it is to build a following, be it the club or the promoter. For example, Destiny can throw an event just about anywhere and still draw a crowd. Or any Joe can throw a party at Guv on Saturday and it will be rammed.

With Viva's 1 year, TR was given the task of trying to pack a night that is not normally open at Viva. We pulled in approx 750 non-regular attendees (1100 people total), which was a complete success. We also had the benefit of not going up against anyone that night, hence contributing to the success of the event.

This is what i had in mind as well. I think it's really important for a new promoter to build a relationship and rapport with the rest of the community before getting highly involved with the scene. Perhaps bringing in J00F right away was just a risky move despite the good intentions behind it.

This is why I was suggesting that perhaps Fresh start off by first throwing smaller more intimate parties with local DJ's to get their name out in TO and provide everyone with an opportunity to see and feel what they're all about first. I'm sure after such an initiative, partygoers might be a lot more receptive for future events much like what Itikia said happens with Destiny.
