yeah, I think most ppl say I'm anti-american cos of this post, but there was another worse one involving the italian keeper cudicini vs Arsenal, just happened that when i was browsing a site i found this one so I put it up, and the entire thread wasnt' meant to be a full debate on sports, just to have a smile & laugh

You know the real intention of threads only last about 10 posts in, then it slowly starts its downward spiral.

now here's one for you soccer-heads... Baseball was voted in the states as having the most difficult feat in all of sports, hitting a fastball (or baseball in general)... a 95 mph (roughly 155kph) fastball coming from a pitchers hand travelling 60 feet 6 inches to homeplate, takes about 0.45 seconds to hit... less than a split second... it is said that you have about0.2 seconds to decide on whether to swing or not... now accompany that with not knowing whether itll be a fast ball or not... then think about this, Randy Johnson pitches can reach 100mph (roughly 163kph)... yeah, lets see you soccer-heads do that...

Ever see cricket? Its far more expensive to buy the eqipment for it than baseball. To play at any sort of proper level you need to play on a well kept ground.

It's still has to be more popular than baseball worldwide.

Your logic of american sports not being popular world wide because they are expensive to paly doesnt follow.

I could have been really harsh in my reply, because i am passionate about football, but i also aint rude lol

so what if soccer is the sports of the world...i still can't stand watching it on TV and i find it absolutely boring...it changes nothing

and yes, i am very passionate about american football as well...whatever point you were making with that...

ill admit, i dont know much about cricket... however, i highly doubt its more popular than baseball... baseball is played all through the America's, North n South... and Asia... hell, Taiwan use to be the dominant team in Little League... now its Japan thats the dominant force...

and i didnt say American sports in General, i said Football and baseball... Basketball is cheap, can be played everywhere, and it is... i just look at some of these African countries, one recently making it to the Men's Worldcup competition, i guarentee you that they cannot afford sports like Baseball and Football... soccer, you just need a ball, and it doesnt take a whole lot to teach the basics...

you know, i use to be the same way... up until experiencing the World Cup in Japan... sure it came to the states in 1994, but like we cared... when you see the competition in a country that does give a fuck, you start to feel the hype... look at Korea, you see how many people were out on the streets during their run last year? something like 2,000,000 (not exaggerating either), all, and i mean ALL, were wearing red shirts... it literally looked like a sea of red... in Japan, it was like that in various cities... dont get me wrong though, i still think the sport is boring as hell, but the guys that play it are true athletes... i just like the atmosphere and hype...

i see your point, like I watch rugby instead of american football, football instead of NFL, cricket instead of baseball, but I do watch some NBA and love the NHL cos of the action involved in it
