At the end the ship with morpheos and neo on it gets blown up.

They ran out of the ship, into the dumbs of the "real" world.
And there neo blast the other machines aways, and then faints.

But this real world has no trees and shit anymore so how can there be oxygen?? how can they breath outside of their ship?

Interesting observation. I have two possible answers, the first one I'm not crazy about :

1. Enough O2 was created many years ago before the Renaissance War. Furthermore, I believe the oceans and their associative plants to sustain enough 02 to last for many years to come, making the O2 derived from trees only as a minor secondary source, but don't quote me on that. It's been a while since I've looked at my old college Ecology notes.

2. If we grant that your premise is correct, and what follows is a lack of 02, we must therefore conclude that Neo and the gang are not breathing in O2. Therefore, we must further conclude that they are not human. Anyone want to take it a step further?

Well, being as lazy as I am, I cant be arsed with reading that. But here's my thoughts on the matter:

The Architect said that the first Matrix was a perfect world, but that most humans who were linked to it died because the human brain couldn't comprehend a 'perfect world'. So a program (the Oracle) was written to figure out what makes humans tick. She found out that humans need a random element of choice to survive - there has to be a good and evil, or a right and wrong, left or right etc...

So a new Matrix was written that incorporated this random element into the scheme of things. The only problem is, computers cannot create a random numbers etc of their own accord - it's just not possible. The only thing that can truely create a random number or make a decision purely upon personal preference is the human brain.

So the Matrix was connected to a human: The One. It was The One's brain that created the element of randomness in the Matrix. So in effect, The One can manipulate the matrix however he wants. This also explains how Neo was able to control the machines in the real world in Reloaded.

In the third film, I think Neo will realise this, and end up killing himself, as this will create a missing piece of the Matrix, and the program will crash, freeing all of the humans and leaving the machines without a power source and hence, they are destroyed and humans are now free.

Tada!!!

I also like this simplistic rundown, but based on some of the spoiler websites and forums as well as some of my own assumptions and hopes, I'd like to take this a little further.

That so-called matrix within a matrix theory is bunk, and I don't buy it. I read somewhere that the Wachowski bros. debunked that theory within a week after Reloaded came out, so I'll go with that. I'm much more inclined to think that Neo is a machine. In fact, I'm much more inclined to think that everyone in Zion is a machine. Some of the things I've come across all tend to agree with the connection of Zero One with Zion - kinda seems a little familiar ehh? So instead of having a human uprising in the earth's core (Zion), it seems more catchy to me (though not completely plausible) to have a machine uprising/revolution against the humans. In any case, it's much more plausible to think of Neo as a machine - that way his ability to short circuit the sentinels makes a little more sense. I won't discount, however, the theory Streakfury makes about Neo being human and is forever connected to the matrix, which may give his brainwave activity the ability to destroy the Sentinels.

Whichever the case, to me it seems the matrix was created not for the humans, but for the machines to keep them being bored, more or less. To which end, I honestly don't know. I could believe it's because the humans are either keeping the machines busy enough for their own personal means, or that the machines themselves are in charge and are keeping themselves busy for the same purpose - boredom.

Moving on to another character - Mr. Smith. Clearly a virus, he's destroying the code in the Matrix through his unending replication. The machines will call on Neo to help fight Smith and destroy him, from which the final conflict between the two results, all the while the machines are fighting the Zionists (other machines?). Smith eventually overpowers Neo and begins to take over his code. Once he starts, however, the machines unplug Neo and he dies, along with Smith.

I think the X-factor here might be something my brother came across. That kid who could get himself out of the Matrix all on his own (Animatrix) who followed Neo everywhere in Reloaded "You got yourself out, kid" (that kid's name escapes me right now). According to my brother, he believes this kid is actually The One, and that the role of Neo is, more or less, the man/machine who helps find The One. If anyone knows New Testament stuff, Neo is somewhat analagous to John the Babtist. According to one spoiler website, that kid ends up in the chair of the Architect at the end, and is the One who is chosen to correct or even recreate the Matrix back to normal levels. Interesting, and even a little plausible.

Aww f$ckit, who the hell knows? I'll find out next week. What a killer trilogy!

In which case I think the Smiths (who represent humankind) will win anyway. So I guess either the Smiths represent humans and will defeat Neo, or, Neo really is fighting for the humans, and he defeats the Smiths, meaning not every single human being has been "overridden" by the Smith program.

Who knows, we're just gonna have to wait and see!!!

To be honest, if I were Neo, i'd just install Norton Antivirus into the machine mainframe. If that didn't fuck everything up I dont know what would.

but there aren't any O2 supplies on board of their ship, but there are machines in Zion that create 02. This can be seen in the second part of the matrix where neo's talkes to the chair dude at night in the machine room.

so I think it's just a movie mistake, that they didn't looked after..

because if they have to make o2 inside of Zion, they should also have to do it outside of Zion...

Yeah, I guess you could take it that way. But I'm not convinced by the Matrix within a Matrix idea, nor does it seem the Wachowski bros. are either (see earlier post). I was more or less hinting at the possibility that Neo is a machine, as are the other Zionists.

But who knows, anyone's guess until the 4th!

Sorry for the bump. Heres my point for the oxygen case:

Machines dont need oxygen, as fas as I know. And if you watched the Animatrix, humans could breathe when they were at war against the machines.

Besides, if there is oxygen-making machines at Zion, I think its because Zion is too deep inside Earth to have oxygen naturally. Or is it? Remember in the last flight of the Osiris, the captain mentionned it was 4-5 kilometers deep.

For the first post, i have only one thing to say:

"Whoa." -Neo, First movie

How do you know it's just oxygen-producing machines in Zion. Maybe there are actually plants giving off oxygen that grow in Zion and they use artificial sunlight or something.
