no no, your not getting the point. What he's saying is that a black hole with the mass of the ENTIRE EARTH creates an event horizon thats about 2 centimeters. So, the physicist who posted that is saying that the event horizon of a black hole with the mass of an electron would be about 10^-57 meters in length, which is smaller than the planck length, the smalles length we can possibly fathom.
Regarldess of whether or not we find shorter lengths, the point is that in order to travel in time you must create a black hole with enough mass so that its event horizon will consume you, a 6 foot tall human (unless I'm mistaken, in order to time travel through a black hole you MUST be beyond the event horizon, or the tidal forces would rip you apart). So then, considering a black whole the size of the WHOLE EARTH would make an event horizon with a 2cm radius, it would take a black hole MANY MANY times the mass of the earth in order to be of any use.
Btw that video is a complete crock of shit. Thats so ridiculously impossible its not even funny. Besides that, he claims he was traveling with the time machine itself, which is not suprisingly missing from the picture. Plus that little handbag he carries couldn't possibly be a large 1970's IBM computer. Such a nice little hollywood touch of the warping of the picture right there, too. And why the hell would you tape yourself going into the future? What, you just leave it for some idiot to stumble across? Or are you gonna take the tape of yourself traveling to the future, travel back to the past, then post it across the internet? Pfft.
Btw any civilization advanced enough to send a man through time would know that you'd never get him home to his original universe. Assuming our current theories of the multiverse are correct (which I beleive most serious physicists would agree). Even his presence in our time for a split second would alter time in such a slight way, but it would create yet another timeline that he would return to. The people who sent him back would never see him again. This is why you can't just go and kill Hitler or something like that.
Stop beating the dead horse. Please.
