very good night all in all
I arrived at around 1am which was bad cause I missed out on half of G&D's set, and G&D were the main duo I wanted to see. I walked in as they were playing their Sarah McLaughlin remix.

Infected Mushroom were fuckin awesome, had a ton of energy. There were a lot of Israelis in the crowd waving Israeli flags, so that gave the party a really cool vibe.

Rank 1 I wasnt that impressed with. Too many old anthems in his set, I didnt hear one recent track, and the mixing was nothing special... I left a little after 5

the worst part of the night was getting my coat from the guvernment coatcheck the stupid ass who hung up my coat put it on the wrong hook supposedly, and so I had to deal with the ****** behind the counter who was crying that it wasnt his fault and that I would have to wait up to 2 hours to wait for someone to search for my coat. Absolutely no respect for the customer which really pissed me off, talking to me rude as hell for a mistake that his incompetent staff made. Then I get this tight bitch whose a little higher up in the coatcheck foodchain taking down all my information which pissed me off. Asking me every detail about my coat... Finally I get it after about an hour of hassle and she doesnt even say sorry for the inconvenience, nothing.

Guvernment really has to upgrade their coatcheck system/way they deal with customers. When you pay 4 dollars for a tiny bottle of tap water and 3 dollars for a melted 10 cent freezie, you'de think customer service would be a little better

[/rant]

all in all a good night, except for that mishap at the end
(maybe I got so pissed cause I was sober)

To my surprise, G&D played the ORIGINAL version of this record. ORIGINAL, not Sweeping Strings remix ...

What you listed is pretty much all tracks I can recall they played too, it was pretty much all their biggest and most popular records of 2003, I'd say. Plus they played this one cool track that just cant come into my head ... dammit ... cant remember da name ... the James Holden remix track ... thanks Psychomatica for listing it! BINGO!

Oh, yea, how could I forget to mention in my post they played ATRC ... it wouldn't be G&D if they didn't, its like every single G&D set has TO HAVE that song! dammit!

Deko-ze --> sleepy??? wow, of all the things :P.. anyhow, here's my substantially late review.

I ended getting into the Kool Haus around 1130, MAD PROPS to John aka 321K13L for the list hook-up! Definately saved me an hour in the snowy, snowy line. Considering my crazy friend was wearing sandals (don't ask), he was very thankful as well.

It's a shame addy broke his arm and couldn't spin alongside deko-ze, i was really looking forward to seing them duke it out on four decks. I ended up catching the last thirty minutes of deko-ze's set, and all i have to say is that i love that man (in a strictly musical sense of course :P). His set was full of hard house goodness, and it put me in a great mood for the whole evening.

I didn't stay for much of Gabriel and Dresden's set, I am a fan of their work, but i did not enjoy all of the vocal trance that was played. A couple songs after "beatiful things" (love that tune), i headed down to charlies to catch DJ C3PO's old-school-breaks set. Even though i didn't know a bunch of the tracks (before my time ), i really enjoyed his set. Caught a bit of Angus Robinson's set, he spun a bunch of nu-school breaks.

Got back to the KH just in time for Infected Mushroom. Their set was definately the highlight of my night . This was my first time seeing IM, and they lived up to every expectation that i had of them. Their hard, dirty beats coupled with the DJ's energy kept me going for the whole 100ish minutes of their set. My only dissapointment was that they didn't play their remix of the "Requiem for a Dream" song...

Journeyed back to Charlies to catch the end of D-Monic's set.. it was pretty good. He spun "kelis - milkshake (X-Press 2 remix [i think]), which is always a good track. When charlies closed ~430? i went back to hear the rest of Piet Bervoets' set. I don't like cheesy trance, and i expected to hear a bunch of it, but Piet kept it mostly cheese free (Airwave *cough*, etc.).

Saw a couple of TA's: 321K13L, psyrage (alex?), natalie, and grahamn (sp?), good to see/meet you all. Overall, my night was awesome; the music GREAT, and so was the crowd. Aside from that, the event was executed very well: there were no lines between rooms, each DJ set was right on time, and it was never TOO crowded in either the KH or charlies (dunno about the guv). The guv did a great job with this one, props to them!

Great night people. There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said... I have to disagree with someone who said they didn't like G&D playing "beautiful things" twice... masterful stroke as far as I'm concerned... I was a little dissapointed that they opened with it... but when they played the harder version later... whew.

This event was really, really on par with PVD back in October... and for a THIRD of the price.

Greets out to the crew, you know who you are, and to the new TAs I met. I keep saying this, but it's the people that make a party, and let's face it folks, we're the best!

Well... back to bed for me. I'm getting too old for this... heh heh.
