The point was (and still is) that we all are going off on different directions sooner or later. But does it have to be made in such a dramatical way, declaring it here as if someone cared?

yet here you are posting about how you still love trance as if someone cared.

Yeah, that's why this thread is so empty

My point was hardly declaring my love for trance and had you spent more than 2 seconds reading the posts you would had realised that.

Personally, I care shit all about genre. If it sounds good IMO, I listen to it. If it doesn't, I don't. END...OF...STORY...
I mean hey, if someone came up with this exciting new sub-genre of electronic music that tended to be more musical (is that even possible? ), I'd listen to that, but I wouldn't give up on Trance, D&B, Ambient, or any of the other music I listen to

those who don't like prog but love trance.. do this...

1. listen to your favourite trance album..

2. listen to balance 005 by james holden

3. decide what was better...

4. come back and post what you thought..

oh yeah and please do not listen to anything that is not really trance but borderlines it.. only the real trance...i am talking about the songs with the repetitive 4/4 kick...

actually when you think about it i find people who play all real instruments in their music i respect more than computer music program nerds who took some music theory lessons and have a good sample source of have lots of money for hardware...

opinion end.

This is happening here too? This sucks, I still love trance! You're not alone!!! Over at trance.nu half the site now is trance bashing and prog ranting... I guess it's the latest trend, not sure why? Haha, why bother posting if it's not trance related?

Elitism at its finest.
Seriously, why do people have to choose sides ?
I love trance, I love prog, fuck I love all types of music.

Generation X, go listen to balance 005 by james holden, then compare it to Nirvana's Nevermind Album, the Beatles White Album, Guns n Roses's Apetite for Destruction Album, Radioheads OK Computer Album, Dr Dre's 2001, Prodigy's Jilted Generation Album, Chemical Brothers Dig Your Own Hole - What am I getting at?
You may think that progressive is massivly more complex then Trance but in the whole scheme of things musically, neither even scratch the surface of those named albums. Regardless, it doesn't mean you have to all leave trance & prog & go and listen to them. It's just an alternative. Some people like trance, some like prog some like me like both --- Get over it ---- All of you !!

Wow, Mr. Mystery, are you ignorant or just plain stupid?

1.) I posted that because I hated progresive and all of the sudden I just enjoyed it very much. Maybe it was the DJ or something. I don't know much about it after all.

2.) I never said I hated everything else thereby becoming a 'prog-elitist'. If anything i'll just give progressive equal listening now.

3.) I'll post whatever I want as long as it doesn't break any rules, whether you care or not.

The end.

EDIT: I only read Mr. Mystery's first post.

I don't suppose any one genre is superior by nature but it seems to me there are more quality progressive releases than trance nowadays.

I don't have a problem with original trance tracks but the thing is they are pretty rare. I think you put it well Mr.M when you said that trance can't evolve because everytime somebody deviates from the "sound" it's decried as something else (in the traffic thread). IMO there is a lot of stuff besides your formulaic bullshit that could be considered trance but if you suggest something that isn't "trance by numbers trance" is trance you get a horde of bobble-headed genre nazis breathing down your neck. Alas, I'm digressing.

I still listen to trance

Man you are a stupid mother ****** lol, nothing is more boring than trance,

only genres of trance i can really stomach anymore are Psy/Goa

Then the melodic stuff, not epic though cant stand that trash, Only high quality trance productions do anything for me anymore,

techno is where i am more now, or anything with dirty acid synths, but i have drifted through many genres these days, trance is so bland to me now it is crazy, there are certain types i really enjoy, but they are few and far between, names like tiesto, pvd, and all that shit make me want to vomit lol, progressive trance, if you still consider there to be a split in the genres i enjoy, thats pretty much my tastes, so i still enjoy trance, just not the type they post about here most of the time lol
