Beginning to DJ and building tracklists can really give you a new appreciation for music (ie. Trance). Some songs I didn't care too much about before, I find myself wanting to play them everytime in my sets and enjoy them more that way.
Trance isn't dead, it is different than it was, those incredibly epic and uplifting tunes are fewer in number, but trance itself is evolving, uplifting and progressive. Producers like Gabriel & Dresden, James Holden, Nathan Fake, Leama and Moor, Luke Chable, Grayarea, and more, are all pushing forward the innovation envelope on progressive...
While Tiesto I think is still on top of his game esp. with his new CD coming out, Ferry's moving onto some exciting electro/tech sounds, Armin seems to be a jack of all trades and music genres (hopefully he starts making some more productions), Push, Solar Stone, Airwave... these guys are all doing well and releasing exciting tunes. And some newer artists like Re:Locate, Phynn, Fictivision, C-Quence, Mesh, Filo & Peri, RonskiSpeed, Subsphere... how is trance dead or how is it worse? It's a matter of evolving along with music and not rotting in one time period.

Agreed. Couldn't have put it better myself.

Here is my final point. About drugs, about alcohol, about pornography and smoking and everything else. What business is it of yours what I do, read, buy, see, say, think, who I fuck, what I take into my body - as long as I do not harm another human being on this planet? - Bill Hicks
Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself. - Timothy Leary
