In Soviet Russia houses buy you!

Youre stupid, and thats funny. Its one of my family homes

I just work at best buy for the discounts and beer money.

And what does hard work have to do with anything? lol.

Edit:

Ill explain why you are stupid so it isnt random. It is because you took the fact that I stated I have a nice house and extrapolated that to somehow me implying that everyone in America does.

Which doesnt really make sense given logic.

Now, if you instead took that to the level of someone who is smart and capable being able to do almost anything in America and not being limited by class, age, or creed; I would agree with you. Somehow someone else doing well put a burr up your ass though and you got touchy.

Ill say it blatantly to help desensitize you "THERE ARE PEOPLE RICHER THAN YOU" and me. There is one reallly rich dude out there and everyone is poorer than him. So dont be bitter.

I love being in a place where intelligence and diligence can take you so far. And...too bad if you dont like it

Well - I personally see it as a distraction from the noble sport of young earth creationist bashing.

um sorry the figure is more like 75 percent of scientists...and only because someone doesnt beleive in something doesnt mean its correct I mean looking at that FHM hottest woman poll thingy 99 percent of americans think britney is number #1 hottest girl...

if you lookhereyou will find a list of just a small percent of scientists who beleive in creation...

now if you look here there is a consise article on creationism and basically why some beleive in creation and others in evolution.......

note: the majority of scientists who beleive in evolution where either born during the hippie revolution or young scientists who just gradauted....these scientists do not have not lived as long as the scientists who beleive in creationism...and we all know age=wisdom...

Firstly - open up a thread in the political forum, going over this here isn't going to help anyone. It's off topic, and most political forum regulars will miss it. Regardless - I can't allow rubbish like this to stand unchallenged, so I'll go over it anyhow. Gah.

What? Source?

Granted - which is good, because there's multitudes of evidence to back evolution up.

www.talkorigins.org should help explain what evolution is if you're interested.

Christ, not AiG again.

http://home.austarnet.com.au/stear/..._in_genesis.htm

Creationism isn't falsifiable. Creationism isn't testable. Creationism doesn't even have a hypothesis. Thus, creationism isn't science. Again, most creationists have got their degrees from so called 'degree mill' institutions. Most of them actually aren't scientists at all. The small amount that are have never actually published one paper in a peer-reviewed scientific publication. Once again, 99% of biologists are evolutionists - it simply isn't possible to do any real research if you're a young earth creationists - nothing makes sense.

now if you look here there is a consise article on creationism and basically why some beleive in creation and others in evolution.......

That article not only grossly misrepresents evolution - but it's also trying to back away from the whole 'facts issue'. It's typical creationist rhetoric - "Now, these facts, this evidence, it really doesn't exist - what actually happens, is we interpret these fact differently". Sorry, but that's BS - plain and simple. The facts point to an old earth, there's no getting around that. When creationists come up with a scientific theory, get back to me.

If you want someone professionally qualified in the area to debunk that - Pm MisterOpus1.

At best that's ill-informed, and at worst it's a blatant and unashamed lie. There are very few scientists who are also creationists - and actually have any relevant qualifications in the field. creationism isn't science - it's an obscure religious belief that isn't backed up by the facts.

Back that up with sources please. Again, have you ever seen one creationist publish something in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Are there any who occupy positions at universities? (just to clarify, Christian degree mills that just hand our degrees without actually requiring you to learn anything don't count)

Source please? Keep in mind we're talking about scientists who graduated from real universities and whose field of interest is biology. Even if you'd narrow yourself down to the scientists in the US only, you'd never get 75%, let alone other countries where evolution is established theory and creationism is considered nonsense.

quote:
if you lookhereyou will find a list of just a small percent of scientists who beleive in creation...

First of all half of those scientists have nothing to do with biological research. There are dentists, mathematicians, physicists, etc., not to mention some more esoteric fields like "Creationist Plant Physiologist".

Regardless of that, your lists consists of a 100 or so names. Considering there are hundreds of thousands, if not millions of scientists worldwide, your list makes up about 0.01% of the whole scientific community.

quote:
now if you look here there is a consise article on creationism and basically why some beleive in creation and others in evolution.......

The article assumes that both creationists and evolutionists argue from the dogmatic perspective, which is not the case. It makes a lame attempt to justify bible as evidence, but it basically just portrays that people who are arguing creationism can't distinguish between factual evidence and dogmatic beliefs.

quote:
note: the majority of scientists who beleive in evolution where either born during the hippie revolution or young scientists who just gradauted....these scientists do not have not lived as long as the scientists who beleive in creationism...and we all know age=wisdom...

First of all, how old are you? I truly doubt you're much past your teens, so maybe you should just sit back and let the grown ups talk. Secondly, the peak of intelligence and reasoning is somewhere between 25 and 45 years of age. Older people are wiser up to the point where their brains start deteriorating. After that their wisdom becomes highly questionable.

Now, back to the point. What you said doesn't mean absolutely anything, because the majority of older scientists believe in evolution as well. You are implying an utterly fallacious idea, that scientists accept creationism as they mature, which is simply not true. Evolution has been a widely accepted theory for about a 100 years now and hippie revolution had nothing to do with it, especially since hippies didn't really care much about science. As a matter of fact, they were quite intent on limiting and bringing down some scientific achievments (nuclear power, for example).

Hopefully MisterOpus1 is around – he's the guy to talk to about the Evolution/Creationism controversy.

Evolution is science, creationism is not. Creationism should not be taught in science class. The only place creationism should have is either in a comparative religion & philosophy class, or used in science as an exampole of a falsified theory that's been disproven and debunked time and time again.

Not believing in evolution is like maintaining that the earth psi flat, or that the sun orbits the earth - it's that simple. If you'd like take this further: open a thread in the political forum, there are numerous people there who will gladly take you on with regards to this.

That's a blatant lie and you know it. You sprouted this rubbish in the political forum and watched your arguments dismantled by DrUg_TiTo, MisterOpus, Myself, Diginut etc. - so why are still using them?

Read the constitution - specifically the first amendment and the establishment clause. There is separation of church and state - meaning that the state cannot, and does not endorse, impose or support any particular religion or religious belief. There are no references to the Christian god or the bible in the constitution. Either you're astonishingly ignorant - or you're lying. Quite frankly, I'm going with the latter. The 'in god we trust' is technically in violation of the establishment clause, and if history is anything to go by, will eventually get legally challenged.

Seriously - just stop lying, it doesn't do anything to further your case.

Thanks for the lecture - but I already know what the democratic party is and what it stands for. I'm not an American, and hence wont be joining the, - but yes, I do support them over the republicans.

What? That's utterly nonsensical. They made freedom of religion and separation of church and state because they wanted separation of church and state. They had been persecuted in Europe for their religious beliefs - and as such understood that theocracies weren't the best idea. Do you even know what freedom of religion means?

FFS - are you completely blind?

How was it explicitly based off the morals of Christianity? Go on - provide some evidence. Cite sources and provide examples please.

Eh? Since when is creationism taught in Australian schools? Heck - even the religious schools teach evolution.

There - rant over.

i guess im somewhat defeated. my comments sources were from church really. years ago, but i still remember a sermon on the founding fathers 4th of july.
