thanks...you've (mostly) answered my question...and from your answer it would appear that my assumption was, for the most part, correct

don't misinterpret my intentions...I'm not trying to discredit you or be condescending....I was simply to trying to get a handle on what kind of experience and expertise is behind your opinions, whether I agree with them or not

your assumptions being?

Considering you dont know me and still dont know me i find it quite amusing that you are making judgements here. I wont ask what you do or who you are because quite frankly i dont care. Your opinions are your opinions... end of story.

the assumption was that you have "virtually no experience or education at all in law, politics, finance or public service"

Who I am, and what I do, aren't of any relevance here. I'm not the person who has taken it upon themselves to educate this forum on politics and the like. Given that you come across as being quite the expert in this area, I was interested in your background.

no question....you are absolutely correct....
but given that you've turned so many threads into your own personal soapbox, and that you seem to think that your opinion is more valid than others, I thought it was useful to get a better idea of exactly who I was listening to

Right.... so because i feel passionately about my opinions some how they become more invalid.

Hmmm well so far based on what you have said i have come to the conclusion that you feel that unless someone is getting paid, or had been paid to do something in their life, their opinions about a topic are irrelevent. Which means most people here probably shouldnt be talking about much more than flipping burgers or pumping gas. I guess that also cuts out all the tiesto threads too since most people here are not DJs..

one's background, education, employment, etc. really has little to do with how valid one's arguments prove to be...an position stands on its own merits...but in terms of how our opinions are formed and what our perspective on certain issues might be, I think it's worth knowing a bit of background so long as that isn't used in response to the person's arguments (ad hominem attacks are lame!)

It's relevent if it adds to your comment but irrelevent if it doesn't. There are many different avenues one can take to educate themselves. One way is by opening a business. Now theres a quagmire of legal BS if i've ever seen one.

your opinions might be valid ones, but the fact that you have an opinion on every fucking topic, it getting kind of annoying. and you repeat the same crap over and over again.

so don't be surprised if some people here choose to put you on ignore, because once you read 10 Jayx1 posts, you have read them all.

I never said or implied that. Don't put words in my mouth.

I never said or implied any of that either. Again, don't put words in my mouth. From the start, I said I didn't intend this to be a means to discredit you. My intention, as I previously stated, was to get an idea of what kind of background you have that might lead you to be an 'expert' in so many arenas. An opinion isn't made any less valid by ones background, or lack thereof, but given that you have such a strong opinion on so many things under the sun, I was trying to get a better sense of what might be behind some of those opinions.
