internet radio is the key, then you don't have to bother looking for the music

Heh, unfortunately I have a 56k modem, so I'm gonna have to wait a while on this one...

But yeah, I don't listen to trance that much either nowadays. Guess I'm too lazy to search for mp3s. Most recently I'm listening to some weird gothic-metal-dance music

Yeah, I know. We have only one telecom operator so they're really in no hurry to improve on technologies before the competition comes. Fortunately, the competition will come at the end of this year, so then I hope I'll get a decent connection.

Really? Have you decided on where exactly you'll be staying? And take with you that sister of yours that's making out with other girls, I'd like to meet her

Hmm, I've never been there but I suppose it's a nice place. It's not that small, so I guess there should be some satisfactory nightlife and entertainment. I'm usually staying in Malinska, that's on the north on the island Krk, cause I got a house there. It's pretty lame there though. Anyway, I heard Paul van Dyk is gonna come to Croatia this summer, but I forgot where exactly. I think it's somewhere in Istria, but I'm not sure...

Oh, well, then you guys can feel free to give me a visit

I think the whole pledge is a hypocritical toward "separation of state and church". If there is such, then why there is a reference of God in the pledge?

I think it has something to do with a general belief in God vs. belief in a specific organized religion like Catholicism, Mormon, Presbyterian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Shinto, etc.

Yep, by law, every school in the country is supposed to do one act of Christian worship per day, but 99.9% of secondary schools in the country willingly break this law, because simply put, there isn’t enough hours in the school day to get all the teaching done and sit around praying. The Teachers Union put pressure on the powers that be to get the law changed so their not breaking any laws any more, but to my knowledge the law still stands.

At my secondary school, on the very rare occasion that there was a prayer said in assembly, they had no problems if you didn’t bow you heads and pray along with everyone else. Primary schools are a bit different though, as you’ll know a lot of them are connected to a major Christian denomination, so they get agitated if you don’t join in like the good little fundamentalist!

I think it's highly likely that the god section is referring to the Abrahamic god and that god alone. That aside, most Hindus are polytheistic, as are many Pagans, as are (I believe) Shintoists - so they can't pledge allegiance to 'god'. Then you've got people who don't actually believe in a god; Buddhists, Humanists, Humanistic Jews, Agnostics, Atheists etc.

The US clearly isn't one nation under god - and as such the reference really shouldn't be there. If you define religion to mean the following:

quote:
"1. Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe."

How can the god reference not be considered religion?
