actually, I don't like them both.
Although I like other music than EDM, this is not something I would often listen to.
but I voted for RHCP, I 'hate' their music less than Oasis

I find one or two of their songs listenable if its on radio or whatever, but I think they're awfully overrated and nowhere near the class of RHCP

so because they aren't as mainstream as RHCP they are worse?

How about you listen to their stuff that didn't make it to radio and then make judgement, you will see how much they destroy RHCP!

I never said that at all. If you knew the path I've taken with music over the last 10 years you'd not be able to say it. I'm saying that the voices for one are overbearing and tuneless, if you want a good lead singer RHCP are better or Muse the best imho of that, being able to do different types of songs, the banging ones like Can't Stop, the more ballad type like universally speaking or under the bridge, and the plain genius like californication & by the way. Oasis have done 1 or 2 ok songs, but even those don't come close to any rhcp song imo, there's a lot of good bands over the years, Blur imo were better than Oasis, Muse are, RHCP, Foo Fighters, REM, Nirvana etc and all of those wipe their ass with Oasis

actually to fully explain this one..

If I'm listening to radio & an oasis song comes on, I will listen as a rule, but I would not pick up a cd and willingly choose them as I believe that like I said above there are so many better bands out there. It has nothing to do with commercialism, Oasis have had their fair share of radio plays also.

"being able to do different types of songs" ?

OASIS have so much VARIETY its incredible!
I'm not joking, but if you think that RHCP have more variety than Oasis it would not be a matter of opinion - you would just be wrong.
Not only has their style changed many times over their career, but on each album their songs are extremely varied!
- rock anthems
- ballads
- melancholic
- uplifting
- relaxed
- heavy
- etc.

Need i say more?

again that comes down to your opinion that they can make such types of songs, they had a chance to be bigger than they were, and every time the personal lives of the gallagher brothers & their behaviour let them down, leaving them virtually unknown to some people still. The idea of the poll was who people thought are the better band, and the people have voted so far, even though it's close, as many people agree with me as with you.

yeah well if anyone had actually been bothered to listen their songs they would see that they do actually have massive variety. My point is that many people on this poll are voting against a band that they know very little about.

PS: Noel Gallagher is a hero, Oasis rule!!

PPS: What is your opinion on Supergrass?

1. Oasis are much more of a mainstream band than RHCP, being Brit-pop. They've also had about five or six number ones, and one of the best-selling singles ever. Go figure.

2. RHCP have much better musicians- Flea is one of the best bassists ever, and John Frusciante is a talented guitarist.

3. RHCP are a lot more original, with their indie/funk/hip-hop blend, while Oasis don't do anything original at all.
