i have a question...i thought what scumfrog did was really cool...are there any other djs i should add to the list that get as involved as scumfrog did...i love how he used the microphone, because it feels so much more personal that way...my biggest pet peeve is when they don't announce headliner djs...sometimes they will, sometimes they won't...also the drums were very cool...i'd love to know who else does crazy stuff like that!!!

Not too many....
Ironically, D:fuse was using a drum pad at WEMF 2 weeks ago, and to the same Junior Jack tune (Da Hype). He also had some other cool sound effects going, and all I could think was: 'wow- trying to be like scumfrog....' It was the 1st time I've seen him use a drum pad with his set, and it definitely worked to his advantage as far as I'm concerned. I dunno if anyone else was paying attention, but I was. His set at WEMF def. was a highlight, and the drum pad certainly gained him major points in my book.

time for the review after a BORING day at work... nothing seems to measure up to a night like that...

We got there at around 11pm (me, dee420, and two friends) and met up with Jon for some tickets (thx again). Got in, stayed in the KH for a bit, liking the DJ in the kool haus... thinking to myself... this Thirst winner is playing some wicked prog... (later i found out it was howells) guess i cant read the mega screens behind the dj...lol

So onwards to the guv we go... this is when it started getting packed... i hate it when you have to wait in line to get thru the orange room and into the guv because it means that the guv is packed. But to my surprise it wasnt so bad.. you could still move (which for the guv is good) and Mark was starting to play some old filtered house tunes... i was expecting scumfrog to come on earlier than he did, but no worries, the anticipation made it better.

I spent alot of time out on the patio chillin with the rest of the TOTAs.. SO GOOD to see everyone, i love partying with you guys. Nat, Marg, Rat, Az (u da man), tordan, jon, nice to meet some more TAs for the first time, Jeff, Tyson, Erika, Heidi, wicked times... besides the crazy beats going on in the club, the best part of the night was outside chatting with all you guys.

Lets get to the MAN OF THE NIGHT...this guy COMPLETELY blew my mindeyes: ... no idea he was so good live... he is totally a rock star like everyone said... i think i told everyone knows that I was waiting for one song... and i can die happy cause he did play Love Song... ironically when every single TA that was on the dancefloor went outside for a smoke...but apparently it was enjoyed outside so no worries.

so in the end, good times at the guv once again... managed to meet tons of people, room to dance in the guv, gave out some cds (anyone who got one, i welcome your feedback and criticism), and got to hear scumfrog do his thing.

till next time...

Highlight of Scumfrog's set:

I can't remember what it's called, but the lyrics go:

"...people were dancin', people were smilin', the music was pumpin'. There was a feelin', life was a party, the party was life, but somehow things changed. It just don't feel the same..."

I've been waiting to hear this track live ever since I heard Desyn Masiello's set from Aria.

Great Track, I don't know the name either. I have the original of that song in a couple sets of mine somewhere, but I don't know the name. Love that mix

Uberzone (breaks act out of LA, California). Two guys who, for their live PA sets, use drumpads, keyboards, live vocals and a computer. They came to the guv about a year ago i think... for the "Focus" night they used to have, good show.

My shortest post party review :

Got really drunk, almost didn't make it. Once we were in, stumbled around, trying to avoid getting kicked out. Ended up in the acid lounge because the Guv was packed and techno sucks when you're drunk. Missed most of Scumfrogs set, all of Howells and Tongys set and was basically almost carried out by the time 4 o'clock rolled round so i could work at 11.

Moral of the story...don't drink a 40oz between 3 people less then 1 hour before you bounce on into a club.

Shouts to all the peeps i met -- next time, i'll do it right
