I kinda work with what sounds I end up with. I have a rough idea of what I want to go for, but the technology also has a say in what you get. It's almost collaborative, in that way.

I get frustrated when some people post "well if you don't like what's coming out, make it yourself!" Gah, yeah, pay my bills, buy me some synths and I'd be happy to!

I just worry what will happen with Lieb barely producing now, Tiesto well past his better days of the late 90s/early 00-01 years, Ferry experimenting more, Armin losing 10x the class production wise he had before the end of 2002, Push/M.I.K.E. seemingly slipping downhill and L-Vee ripping off xpander several times more, as to what we will have to hear in maybe 5 years time. Obviously I don't mind who produces it, as long as it is good & Innovative, and atm I find a lot to be stale & far from the quality of production we used to get from the names i've mentioned above.

I'll say! Phynn, Factoria, Recluse and Airbase are really REALLY hot...and great! Phynn has a somewhat unique style - a thing even higher ranked DJs sometime miss.

i agree. i mean there isn't really enough diversity to the sound of songs recently. they all have that same sound to them...i can't explain it any different than the heavy reverbed proggy sound that it seems all tunes have nowadays. i mean its a great sound for a track, but EVERYONE is doing it. i listen to the sets in the ametuer sections and they are filling entire sets with that stuff...it gets really mundane and lifeless for a whole set, but that what people wanna hear i guess.

Well, this is how i see it. If Phynn stays this good or even improves himself, i believe he could reach if not even surpass the big T. True about Ferry, he does sound a bit lost nowadays...

But truly, guys, as i mentioned above...except those boys, WHO - WHO will replace the trance producers?

Yeah, i'd really like someone to teach me how to create music...to teach me in such way i could create anything that comes in my head...and i already have some tracks playin in my head, a remix of Wouldn't It Be Good (Nik Kershaw - has a really god melody) and a possible trance anthem, featuring the voice of Tina Turner. I hope you guessed that would be a wild uplifting trance tune

Dreams are dreams...but i'll try to make them come to life

P.S. yeah i might sound like full of shit, but hey - no one's perfect

this thread has become another "we hate oakie" thread.. lol. well, my opinion on this is.... he WAS great, and now he is trying to come back... the thing is, oakie never really had amazing mixing skill's..even from back in the day. but he is still revolutionary in the scene.... hes kinda like a retired sports player that tries to come back and play again.

the thing i don't get about all the oakie bashing is that is playing a lot of the same music that tiesto is...so is it just teh mixing that is the problem...because doesn't tiesto have that SAME problem...i dont understand
