It makes sense from a business perspective. They have something that people are willing to pay money for, so they charge for it. Rogers gains nothing by roaming on Fido (in terms of map coverage), where as Fido does have quite a lot to gain, that extra service will come at a price for now. (well starting Feb)

Doesn't bother me really, I don't go anywhere (enough) where my fido signal disappears to warrant paying money for it.

You want to brag about Canada's landline service? Now that's cutting edge stuff.

i can see how this makes sense .. i guess for a Rogers user, the only thing to gain really is improved coverage in some urban areas by roaming on the Fido network .. but vise versa, the Fido user has a lot more to gain with the larger national coverage ..

but i'm in the same boat.. i seldomly travel outside of the Fido coverage area and if and when i go overseas, i hav local pre-pay SIMS that i use anyway ..

Dam it! I just switched form Rogers to Fido 2 months ago, jerks jipped me on a so called "incoming call" that lasted 40 minutes and had no number on it, heh guess what I don't talk for even 5 min on incoming calls barely even more than 10 on outgoing. If I have to taak for that long I'd use a regular phone. And they just had to mess it all up after I was with them for almost 3 years and always said good service but lately they just went downhill.
