Indeed. The Japanese Self-Defense Forces are mainly focused in ground troops, but they also have one ofthe largest navies in the world. It is not suprising considering they are an island nation like Great Britian. They are uor ally to combat communism in North Korea and China. Today, while communism is still a threat, it has lost its teeth. The biggest thing is that they deployed in Iraq without UN approval.
Also with China they could raise an army of massive size but the trouble is supplying such as massive force on the move. Depending on the size of the Chinese Air Force and air defenses, the key to defeating such a massive army is to cut off its supplies, via planes, missles, sabotage, etc.
An army does march on his stomach.
