another stereotype sure maybe, but like i keep saying, originality isnt the only thing that matters, if a sound is used over and over, its because it serves its purpose well, and although you might not accept this, melodies do play a huge part in the mood of any piece of music, sure its not the only thing that counts, but if you have a good melody (which admittidly is hard to come by these days) and then something powerful like a supersaw to deliver it, then you are going to end up with a piece of music FULL of soul and feeling, which can really touch people.

I haven't heard a good trance melody for quite some time.

If I wanted to listen to a DJ bang out shit as weak sounding as Andy Moor / Markus Schulz etc. i'd go listen to Armin van Buuren. Nothing fucks me off more than a fan that thinks a DJ can do no wrong. There is a lot of good music out there. How some people can be so easily pleased is beyond my comprehension. |

fair enough, ive heard the odd one here and there, and while they still use that classic supersaw, which yes, has been used a fuck load, no matter how many times u use it, with a new melody you have a new mood. its not all about the sounds, and not all asot trance is supersaws like i said. Take someone like Derek Howell, sure, from what ive heard, its full of feeling, can be some really soulful stuff, but i couldnt listen to it unless i was in a certain relaxed, mellowed out mood. if i wanted to go out and jump around it simply wouldnt do it for me. but different music is suited to different atmospheres and different moods, times, seasons, and DIFFERENT PEOPLE. dont you agree?
