Back in '01 a mate and I had to do a presentation about the media's involvement in sport or soemthing, and we sort of looked at it as the public perception of sportsstars depending on media coverage, and how that transcribed to earning and sport profile as a whole. One of the parts of it we showed how the public perception of players is defined by the photographs published in newspapers. That was pretty good, we got to look at pictures of female tennis players for a few hours pickign out the best. The ones of Jelena were hilarious, cos this was when her dad was a fuckwit, and the papers kept publishing horrid pictures of her facials mid shot, while Martina or someone would be a picture of her with her beaming smile following a rally
