Holy Tranceaddicts! I don't think we've ever met up in so many numbers like last night. Props to trancearmada, those nametags really helped out. Also thanks for getting me that VIP pass, you got major connections bro! To those of you that can't remeber my name (I'm really bad with names too), I was the asian guy with the orange fingerlights on all my fingers. Matt (I forget your TA name), Arctic Boy, and the rest of you, that was some good shizz eh? And to the rest of you TA's that I met, and I'm pretty sure I met or run into all of you, thanks for being so friendly, you're all wicked people.
On to the party. WG 2001 showed me what the Sonic State crew can do, make the best parties ever. This one was no exception. Instead of resting on thier laurels and setting up the Docks like last Wintergalactic, their fresh ideas keep coming and coming. I realky like how they set up the DJ booth ahead of the stage, wicked idea, it gave the crowd a chance to get really close to their "Gods" . I really liked the fabric overhead as well, it gave the main room a much more intimate vibe.
Music wise, Orkidea made my night. I missed his set at WG because everyone left after Tiesto finished, so I began the night without any expectations. I think we can all say that everyone was blown away by his set, he really got the crowd going. To put him before Armin was perfect, nearly everyone would stay for Armin, so they'd have to hear Orkidea as well. Now that we know what he can do, I'd be a happy guy if it was just him headling a party. Ian Ossia was ok, but he kinda lacked the energy I expect in a set, but maybe he was just playing his timeslot. Armin set was great as well, or at least felt great, I can't really give a well read (or well listened) review on his set for classified reasons. Of course it sucked that he cut his set short, but Nick from SS told me that one of the needles on the deck broke and Armin didn't like the Vestax decks to begin with. I'm not bashing Vestax at all, actually I'm happy that the party got sponsored by them, if Sonic State is gonna keep throwing parties of this calibre they need all the money they can get. Anyways back on topic. Did anyone check out the turntablists in the Now lounge around 2:30?? Holy faaaak! The guy on the left scratching with two Madonna - Music records was absolutely sick.
The crowd was also what I've come to expect from a sonic state party, super friendly. A bit of an older crowd though, but maybe because of all the other parties happening that day. Oh well, s'all good. To Nick, Andre, and the whole Sonic State crew, thanks for throwing such an amazing party. See you all at Wintergalactic next year.

HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!! What an amazing night!!
To begin, Orkidea was great. I didnt hear much of his tracks but still expected a good set because of all talk going around about him.
Anyways he did inpress me, and his highlight was PPK Resurection, man I love that track. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
It was then time for the main event - AVB was up next, and man he was AMAZING!! This must have been arguably the best set i've ever been to.(the other being Tiesto @ Kool Haus) AVB played all epic trance and lots of my favourite tracks: rapture, urban train, communication and much more!!
Damn, I met ALOT!! of TA's, it was nice to finally see you in person. I would name some of you but there were so many that I cant even remember anyones name, lol anyways i'm terrible with names.
BTW, I was the guy with the yellow visor and the photon micro lights. I hope you guys enjoyed mine and my bro's(Cloud9) light shows!!

An excellent night out.
WOW!!!
I don't get to check out the trance addict forums too often so I clicked on the thread and was greeted with 5 pages!!!! And its only Monday! LOL
Well I thought I would add my two cents anyways
I got there with my roomate after celebrating a friends birthday party by doing some bar hopping. Arrived at 11:00 because I was worried about a lineup, apparently I didn't need to be because OMG there was no one there. When we first arrived I was afraid that the party had gotten shut down for some reason because there were hardly any cars in the parking lot! Then I realized that I have never been able to make it to a party before 12:00, so I figured I would wait and that it would fill up, which it did. The amount of people was a very nice number, enough to give the place life but not too many to make dancing hard (its a shame that Sonic State lost money on it however). Although I had hard time dancing as much as I usually do due to the fact that I had been working an insane amount of hours the entire week.
I was extremely impressed by the way the docks were setup, fantastic way of doing it!! And the dj booth was a stroke of genius! I'm sure everyone who wanted a signature (which I think may have actually been everyone LOL) found it much easier to do so. To be truthful I enjoyed Armin (gotta love a dj who's is having as great a time as the crowd!!!) but I didn't think he was the best set of the night for me. Ian Ossia stole the show for my tastes, playing some nice deep prog, and Orkidea really surprised me! I hadn't seen Orkidea live before and was expecting a very subdued melodic set from mixes I have heard, but the man can program a set with the best of them for sure! Talk about a fucking fantastic flowing set!! I also felt bad for Billy Nasty, he was one of the big reasons that I came and the crowd in there was so tiny, that I even found myself wandering out into the main room for pretty much all of Armin's set and only saw about a combined hour of Nasty's set. And I can't forget Hibernate's Live PA, Kevin and Otis put on an absolutely slammin set!!! Mmmmm nice and hard acid techno to progressive trance.
OH FACK!!! I don't belive I could almost forget!!! The best part of the night for me was the violinest(sp?)!! That was jaw dropping indeed and shows great creative talent from the Sonic State boys and girls.
All in all though I had a fantastic night, with astounding music, awesome decor, but of course like any thing else it was the company that made my night.

Aiight kids, time for me to toss in my random babble... ;D
Since I went down to NYC, then Wintergalactic with the SS crew early on this year, they made a big impact on me, and when I saw that they were hosting another party... Out I went and nabbed a bunch of tickets. w00t! Got introduced to Orkidea back then, and listened to his Club Unity sets all summer long... When I found out he was coming to State... Aww, yeah... Showed up at about 11:30, marvelled at the absolute lack of a line (that's just unheard of), and went in. Me and my friend Dave (we were the two tall guys at the back, I've got the orange hair) were waiting for Orkidea... The first third of his set was a decent intro, but then he just went insane. After the guy came on with the violin (jesus, that was fuckin' cool) he just dropped the beats. When he spun Luna Park - Space Melody, I think I tore my vocal chords. I think I was damn near gonna cry, that just made the night. And no, no drugs for me (not saying anything, just saying I was all good and clean... ). When Armin came on... Goddamn. Those were some heavy tunes. Me and the rest of my group, all eight of us, shoved up to the front (apologies if we blocked anybody). Just danced like mad!
I gotta say, that was a great party. I will do that again, anytime. SS has proven themselves to throw killer parties. Props to all of them, and the people that helped setup the Docks.
And if I had actually known about the name tags (I dunno why I didn't, my head was prolly wedged up my ass or something), I woulda said hi. Next time...
And the 16 hour sleep afterwards. For once, Monday didn't suck ass!

Got his e-mail address that night? Wow, he must have left some impression on you or something, since I couldn't even remember his name... but then again, I met at least a million people that night, and if I knew about those name tags (now I know what they were for!), I would've said hi or at least got me one...
Anyway, tatgirl, I don't really need his e-mail address, but knowing his TA nick (or just hearing from him on this board) would be nice...
And I guess I managed to see you, tranner, that night too, and your red fingerlights...
I was the guy with 4 green glowstix just dancing my ass off in the middle of the dance floor (and losing a few people in my lightshows)... by the way, the other buddy of mine (who also happened to have 4 of those green bad boys with him) might be featured on that next video SS crew is preparing for us, since he was interviewed (short but sweet) by the lady that I believe was in charge of the WG2001 video too
