definetly doesn't effect as many...but you'll have a copy of the mp3 cd for mixing purposes and back up (again lost easier than for audio)...

i still love using my audio cds, instead of mp3

You can also pop the disc and use dos mode to get a file listing and then put it into MS word and make it a numbered list. Then you can glance and it and see what number your track is and quickly key to that track (in case you dont have ID3 on your player).

much better than going through a huge wallet of CDs...

does the CDJ-800 support an mp3 CD? What other CD players out there play cds recorded in mp3 format?

800 does not support mp3s

CD Players that support MP3s:

Gemini MPX-30 - $400
Gemini MPX-3 - $400
Numark CDN95 Dual MP3/CD Player - $1000
Numark HDCD1 Dual CD Player - $1500
Denon DJ DND9000 - $1300
Denon DJ DND4000 - $600
Denon DJ DNS3000 - $600
Denon DJ DN-D4500 - $600
Tascam CDX1700 - $700
Stanton C504 - $800
Denon DJ DN-D6000 Dual CD/MP3 Player - $900
Numark MP300 Dual MP3/CD Player - $500
Gemini MP3000X - $500
Vestax CDX 05 CD Player - $550
Denon DJ DNS1000 - $400

if you are looking for affordability then check out the denon dns1000 or the cdj-200 and don't even consider the Gemini (I don't even know why I even bothered putting them on).

i suppose, the problem is the best cd decks atm IMO dont use mp3 - and the majority of clubs usually sport the cdj1000 so you would probably have to burn them to CD as wav if you ever had the desire or oppertunity to play out

well considering that the pioneer and denon have a good reputation and cost exactly the same it would be logical to skip on them ill go check the features out on the gemini to see if has anything worthwhile
