imo religion only exists to create law and order in society. everybody knows this, but everyone denies it so we can live more peacefully. it's all a load of shit. religion is why wars start and people die. seems so pointless considering there is no proof.

my dad and his family are protestants and my mom and her family is catholic me and my brother are protestant
we never had conflicts about that and my mom ever came to a temple with us ....religion is not so important i think

I definately agree with your comment on morality. I also am an avid believer in Karma, however don't necessarily agree with congregated religion. It amazes me how many thousands of organized religions believe theirs to be the "true" word of God. This is easily displayed by all diversities knocking door to door, trying to "save" and convert.

Rousseau's "Social Contract" was one in which all people in society live as one family and share all. A nuclear family would cease to exist. Any who have excess, the Philanthropists, need to contribute that excess. Similar to one for all and all for one.

Plato believed in Organic Theory, which is when we all feel each others pain, estatic happiness, anger, etc. I love the idea of this principle.

In conclusion, I just believe it is people who help people. Everyone has isolated themselves. We now have 6 ft. tall wooden fences for our "privacy." As soon as we get home, we put our cars in the garage and disappear into our detached lives. I remember a teacher asking in class how many of us actually knew and talked to our neighbors on a regular basis. There were very, very few. We pay for items through a computerized machine, etc, etc, it could go on and on. Religion needs to be here physically on earth, not some romanticized vision of this greater being that we give our all to. I think it is rather amongst the common man helping one another with sincerity. That is MY religion.


Anyway, no. I would not need a husband of the same religion. As Orbax said, just one with ideals. Actually, even if he was of a different religion, it would interesting getting to know his beliefs. I wouldn't let religion get in the way of love and happiness. Why would God want that?

my personal belief is religion causes more harm than good. im thinking along the same lines as tiesto14 and nell. im not going to slate my opinion into this thread. i cant be arsed. nor can i be arsed to dig up evidence to defend it, because basically i wouldnt know where to start.

its just my gut feeling.
