You guys DO realize that if something bad were to happen with our economy or the government or whatever, those yearly payments could stop. That’s why most ppl take half of it in one lump sum...not worth the risk in my opinion..

One good option would be to take the lump sum and then buy a private annuity that would allow you to keep part of the lump sum and pay the rest out slowly... going this method you're end pay out will be higher then the lump sum.
