Let's face it, trance is the most accessible form of e.d.m. on the planet. Trance found itself less filling a niche as edgier than house, more soothing than drum-n-bass, and more melodic than techno. At it's current popular form, trance makes it easy for the listener to dance to the 4/4 beat, wait for the breakdown to put your hands in the air, buildup and then jump/fist-pump during the climax. Trance is how many people, inlcuding myself, got into dance music. It's only natural these listeners leave the trance nest and peep what else is out in the world.
Another point I like to make is, why should it bother anyone what another group of people listens to? If people want to talk about trance go right ahead and talk about trance. I encourage everyone to discuss it's finer points. The fact of the matter is the people who enjoy trance aren't discussing it and the people who like other styles of music are creating the discussions. Trance on TA isn't dying. It's very name insures that there will be countless trance-lovers to share your appreciation with. Those who have been here longer already know, TA has grown into something more than just trance: A community of edm lovers looking to share their musical experiences with others of like mind.
