Ok so how come you dont hear about shoot em ups at electronic clubs except the occasional incident at film which incidentally is probably the dodgiest of them all? I dont even consider film to be a club anyways just as that banquet hall in north york wasnt a club.

a/ do you consider guv a club? wasn't a bouncer killed there a few years back?
b/ we're not talking about shootings specifically. this thread was specifically about a fight inside a club that people associated with the fact that it was hip hop night. a fight that escalated to further violence is not unique to a certain genre of music.

but there is no doubt that just as electronic nights tend to be more conducive to people who use drugs , hip hop nights tend to bring a more violent type to those events as well.

There is nothing more politically incorrect than the business of planning a club night. And club promoters know that the number one way to get the crowd you want is music selection. But then these same promoters will turn around and distance the connection when something bad happens.

Its pure hypocrisy.

Actually i think there are a lot more commercial house nights re-emerging across the city. There will always be hip hop and a thug element just like in the 90s but i think the mainstream is starting to slowly move away from it. Look for rock and house (and by extension the underground) to be dominant in the next few years.

As long as Hip Hop music is the mainstream music of today's youth it will only grow...once a new form of music takes over then the scene will change again. I am just waiting for the day when Irish Folk music becomes the main stream music.

Excuse me but thats total disrespect. That guv bouncer was probably the most polite and cordial security guy they had. The reason he got shot was becuase some little punk ass thug from regent park was trying to pass initiation. The problem is that he got caught thanks to the fact that the security standing next to him acted professionally and apprehended the guy.

And yes it occured in the orange room and yes the bouncer was killed. I watched him die right in front of me.

The most infuriorating part of that night was remembering the media quote people saying that "they didnt even turn off the music after the person was shot " trying to make it look like we were insenstive...yeah thats because first we didnt realize what had happened and then when we figured it out me and the dj were hiding behind the concrete pillars in the dj booth trying to save our own asses.

Fucking media....

but i think it wont todays youth are all thugs even kids like 10-11
