In my opinion I don’t really think you can place them into one category. Basically they create and play extraordinary music that forces you to move your feet.
How about placing them under the category “TALENTED”
Agree.
And I do think they are getting better. If not better than maintaining a standard of quality. Both productions and live sets.
How many else can claim that?

in my oppinion they are hit and miss
they made some excellent stuff like their remixes of beber & tamara - travelling on, or andain - summer calling and i also love their track lament, but they also produced some stuff (eg arcadia, ozgur can - changed remix) i really dislike...

Another great remix of theirs was the Mindcircus remix. So simple yet so effective.
I remember I was one of the first TAs to hype up G & D, especially in those threads back in 2002 about the best American producers. They really impressed me back then.
I think the problem with the McProg sound nowadays is that everything is so overproduced and saturated in a generic way that it leaves a bad aftertaste.

yet their stuff sounds nothing like the other McProg artists (with the exception of that vile above and beyond remix), so how can G+D be labelled as that?

Stuff that's played around (usually) gay clubs in NYC. It's quite synthy and often has "diva" vocals. G&D's Remix of Madonna vs Britney Spears - Me Against The Music comes close to this style and their remix of Kristine W - Save My Soul to a lesser extent.

I disagree that their style sounds nothing like other McProg artists. I thnink G & D are definitely more classy, more musical and less formulaic than most McProg artists, but they were the primary source and inspiration for the McProg sound ever since they emerged in early 2002. Eventually G & D themselves evolved their sound into something that sounded more generic and formulaic, and therefore, McProg. For example: ATRC. I like the tune, not as blatantly horrid as something like Satellite, but I consider it as being McProg (I think I'm allowed to, since I invented this term ).
Same as Holden and the Border Community sound...their sound is not McProg at all but McProg artists imitate it and have bastardized that minimal glitchy melodic tech sound way too much.
