Im from Ireland and its pretty shite for trance nights, 1 a month if were lucky,

Saying that, we have alot of trance followers/dj's, producers, so the scene is still hanging on,

For intance you have me. John O'Callaghan, Bryan Carney, Neal Scarborough who all hang around together which between us makeup Siberian Sun, Inirtia, exertion and Restricted Motion (not all together)

I think the main reason is introducing Trance music to these countries. Making a radio station that plays Trance or House 24/7 then alot of people will get to know it. Then it becomes a culture and next thing you know, you have alot of trance lovers. But in the other side, there are people that like the trance music, but its basicly ian van dalh or dj sammy, or other cheesy eurodance music that they think its trance, so it pisses you off at times. Thats why sometimes i dont want trance to be so popular like hip hop is at the moment.

You are quite right my friend. I hate Eurodance genre to be recognized as Trance by many unknowledged people but anyway radio shows have a freat influence on listeners.

Trance music has been pretty much dead here in new zealand for a good 2-3 years... we will be lucky to get 1 trance night every 2-3 months...

Drum and bass (Not suprizing considering concord dawn are from here) + Hard dance + House rule the country.....

Some of you are acting like its a new thing.. trance "dying" in clubs.. but here its been going on for a LONG time.. but things work in cycles.. u can see the dance scene changing again here AGAIN.. hard dance is getting overdone to death.. and people are starting to realise it and get sick of it..

By the way... i love trance.. listen to it 24/7... and played at a trance gig last weekend

I remember this guy saying that alot of people dont like listening to long trance usually from 6-12 min songs, alot of people cant dance to it. I had this moment when i was looking for other genres, and i found funky house, and i still love it. But no matter what i will stay a tranceaddict for life. I heard Tiesto say one time, that he wanted to conquer the world with his music. In my opinion he has made alot of people that didnt like trance before, like it, it may be cheesy trance but people who really like the music will find a way to get to the real great trance that is out there, just like I did and alot of you have. Im originally from Albania, and the trance scene there is non existant, but i hope that changes in the future, but our neighboring country Macedonia suprisingly is getting alot of quality DJs, which is good to see.

yeah basically zero trance clubs in rep. of ireland but in saying that i dont think any of one style per club is a good thing either. it be nice if you could get a mix of all the good stuff of every genre.

ireland and particularly dublin has a very young population who all like modern stuff. i remember when i use to have a trance show on radio a few years back i use to get a huge number of listeners young and old, and alot of the reaction was that they'd never heard music like this before but liked it.

and of course no-one can forget the yrs of 1999 when trance tracks regulary charted in ireland. it might be some years before we get back to the good old days.

but maybe the problem is that the trance being made today is just not as good as it use to be. when standards drop and the market gets flooded the way it has, this is bound to happen imo.

I fell in love with trance when i heard an illegal radio station, nothing in the house other than a litle japanese flashlight-radio I had could pick it up.

It used to repeat some really nice sets over and over again, in like 2-3 hour loops. Every month or so the sets would change. no talking. no ads. just looped trance. I didn't even know what the hell I was listening to!

Whowever started 102.9FM is a fucking legend!!!!

Don't u complain. If someone famous comes to Brisbane, it's only for like a 1 hour session at a club, who just wants to advertise that a big name DJ is coming ,and draw a crowd.
