The ability for me to trasfer over my Contacts, Calendar, memos (which actually I do write to myself when going place to view on my iPod... ie. directions or notes for stuff to do), etc. etc. (including weather too).

Most of those I couldnt honestly care about -- they are not selling points... BUT, the CONTACTS function is CRITICAL to me... i dont use cellphones and I need to know ppl's number when not at home and dont have Outlook handy -- store EVERYTHING in Outlook Contacts, email, phone numbers, address, birthday, IT ALL!

That lovely ability to be able to put on my contacts is a pure godsend.

They are not in different price classes though. They are about the same price. With the Sony Network Walkman, you're basically sacrificing battery life for space (iPod). I guess it depends on your usage patterns.
