only the rain will save the english!
there are a lot of questionable players in the english side.
- who is this ian bell random; failed in both innings
- geraint jones; missing regulation catches aswell as the pressure catches
- michael vaughn; none of the form he displayed in the last ashes series...what has his average droppped to since taking on the captaincy? which he isn't very good at either, some of his decisions in the field leave a lot to be desired
why isn't paul collingwood in the test team? |
Ian Bell is a great young talent, one for the future as well as now. To be fair his dismissals were unlucky, the 1st innings he got c aught out by one that kept a tiny bit low, and the 2nd he just got done by shane warne, he's not the first obviously and he won't be the last, doesn't make him a bad player, and hopefully he'll score some big runs against you & shut you up
G. Jones - well he's considered o be a better batting option than chris read who is the best english wicketkeeper, it's a big debate, but we'll see.
Vaughan has struggled but more so in the one day team, test wise he'll come good, but I want him to open the batting again.
Flintoff we need to come good, he's been out of form but mainly through a lack of batting since the south africa tour, warming up against bangladesh, we never lost enough wickets to give him a knock and it's showing.
Collingwood is seen as a better one day player, there's never been room in the test side for him sadly, like michael bevan for you guys he's seen as the specialist in that form of the game.

Once again, Jones isn't a batting phenomenom like Gilchrest. Plainly, yesterday he sucked behind the wickets. Doesn't matter how much better batsman he is, you gotta have your best gloveman in the team. |
tell david graveney (selector guy) that, he's blatantly biased to certain counties, Read plays for Notts who aren't as 'fancied' so find it harder for their players to get into the team from that. While not averaging anything amazing (30) he still is the best gloveman and I think equally as good a batsman.
