I could easily say this in a pissed off mood but im not, ill be nice about it. i wrote in a paragraph above that not hip hop is like that or rap, but alot of it is this way. Now you still wanna argue or you wanna stop about this and we ill get back to the mamma talk?

As Pattink said, I posted it to show the double standards we have going on here. Whenever I see the threads about someones friends laughing at them for listening to EDM or someone talking about how people stereotype them, I laugh because I know that the some of the same people who post in support of that person are quick to diss other genres of music that they know little about (most often rap).

Fair enough, we all got opinions about certain genres of music (in this case rap). I think its that way, you apperiantly disagree with me. But let me ask you a question, what music do you enjoy listening to most? and what music do you think has the worst infulence on people?

Don't worry man, most people over the age of 30 dont like to step outside the square they live in. It's rather sad

He shouldn't bring them in until the breakdown, though.

And just to add a little fuel to the proverbial fire, Hip-Hop is EDM, folks, as it is not only made for dancing (in most cases) but is created by an electronic means. Henceforth, trying to belittle Hip-Hip in the face of EDM is moronic due to the fact that the former is a subdivision of the latter.

but yeah...I think my mom and dad are so carefree about what me and my brother listen to because when they were our age they didnt exactly listen to the music their parents would want them to be listening to. Both parents listened to alot of rock from back in the day, beatles, steve miller band, classic rock stuff now, when their parents would want their children to listen to the music they were into, like in my moms case jazz and in my dad's case church music/ barry manilow (SP?) and stuff.

oh, and by other note: most parent's hobbies most of the time untill their kids start to get more independant is their kids, it is just a fact.

Rock music. But if you mean between trance/house/techno and rap/hip-hop I can say I listen to more trance/etc, but that's not to say I like it any more or less.

I don't think music has a negative influence on anyone. That may be a cop-out answer but it's really how I feel.

hardcore rock/death metal often includes lyrics about selfmutilation, killing...etc. Basically it's "angry"

rap and hiphop lyrics are fraught with derogitory comments about bitches, raids, drugs, gun, knives, sluts .... whatever

trance lyrics are mostly loveydovey

i respect your opinion about no music having negative influences on anyone, but compare the lyrics? listening to something often does affect how the mind views the world.

IMO at least..
