That is a huge part of it. Much less people had recordings of sets so they would have no idea that this Dj overplays these tracks. This has been said before: Dj's dont play for people who sit on the their computer tracklisting and collecting sets, they play for the people in the clubs, and most of them dont have mix collections.
I suggest we all start a count-down from 10. And when we reach 0 we shall all delete our entire mp3 collection, stand up from the computer and never ever return.
Let the revolution begin.

If I knew that 1. all the others would join and that 2. it would help the "scene" become better again, I'd do it without the slightest hesistation.

I would not do it under any circumstance . I have spent too long collecting, organizing, and tracklisting to just delete it all. Especially because people under 18 like me are not usually admitted into clubs, so I can't just go see the djs. I live in miami, but what if I didnt? What if I lived in South Dakota? Who the fuck djs in SD? There are good reasons to have a mix collection.

+1 . Even though I was 12 in '99, I love those tracks now.

It is too bad that we can't have some sort of "recess". All take a break from the scene. Have the producers take a break. Record labels go on vacation. And then have a reunion in a year or two. I think that everyone just needs a break. We all expect a lot out of these people, and sometimes the creative juices are just not flowing.
Or perhaps... just release a quality track once every 6-8 months, instead of lots of hashed together mediocre tracks.

i think that most clubbers really don't know what's going on like we do though. TA is not the entire "clubbing scene." we're just those select few die-hard fans that obsess about tracklists and whatnot.
