Of course we do. Not really.
It's nice to see a muslim say something for a change I'd like to encourage more muslims to comment on the issues.
Watching Osama gloating over his "triumph" made me think. First of all I should state first that I don't believe in any religion. I don't believe there is a God and if there was he's not to be found in any religious book, church or whatever. I should also point out that I'm not particularly educated in Islam and Muslim.
We have all heard muslim people coming out and saying that the Taliban are extremist and they don't express the beliefs of muslims etc. Fair enough and I understand their point.
I get the feeling though that Osama and the Taliban are actually saying what the Koran is saying. I mean they were always quoting stuff from it and other religious sources. I 'm sure they could sit and quote things for days about how the non-beleivers must be crashed and all this shit. As I said I don't know much about it but I know for sure that there are sayings like that in the Koran (eye for an eye etc.). I get the feeling therefore that the Taliban are not paraphrasing the Koran but actually following it to the letter. I think that the rest of the more civilized muslim people are paraphrasing it because of the natural need to play done the things that it says. Of course that is good. Who wants more fanatics like them(The taliban)? Tell me though what are the morals that Islam teaches? What values?
There are a lot of bollox in the bible as well but at least christianity teaches some good things and I respect that. It teaches to love each other no matter of beliefs or origin or what ever, that everyone is equal and so on... Not that we needed religions to tell us all that. Every human being should think that for themselves. But if some people need to be told then I guess we should tell them.
Furthermore muslims are more into their religion.
Fanatical christians anoy me, fanatical muslims are just too much for me to handle.
IMO it just shows uneducated uncivilized people.
I mean after the 11th September most of the muslim community (and I am not talking about the muslims in US or UK, I'm talking about the arabic world that lives there) were ready to fight all the christians, they were shouting Jihad and kill the americans and all that bollox. You didn't see any christians doing the same. Why? Because I think christians have more relaxed morals, more liberal ideas that helped them progress from being christians to being actually civilized. I don't think that in the Western world no big decision would be based on a religion any more. It's money that moves everything now and trust me I prefer it from any religion.
I say forget religions, forget nationalities forget history (history awakens pains that are better off forgotten). We all live on the same fucking huge ball. I long for the day that humanity will be united (trully united) with no borders, no religions, no wars. I know that I'm not going to see that but it will happen one day. I'm sure it will, it must.
I am not trying to make aparticular points just a few statements out of my head as I sit here with a serious deprevession of sleep. Goodnight.(oops it's morning)
Peace.

AchillesB - Some nice points there....
astroboy - Stoning Prositute to death with stone isnt in the Koran.... See the thing with Islam, some of u can think, How the fuck do these people believe in this stuff... well Islam and all its folowers arre brought up as one. thats why alot of the islamic ppl are ready to fight together... They see eachother as Brothers and Sisters... As for the stoning thingy, its actually Adultery is punishable but in the Koran it doesnt ssay, whoever commits Adultery is to be stoned to death, Bang Stone him/her... U r ment to look at the situation, if the womans husband cant get it up, or the mans wife has somethign wrong with her etc etc, same with the 4 wives thing, u cant just go out and marry 4 women and bring them home, u gotta get permission from your 1st wife first, and there has to be a reason to get the second or third etc, like if your 1st wife cant have kids or something... Growing Beards and Bashing woman etc is not part of the religion... i hate people that do this and act like this...
Another thing i want to point out is... How come when Timothy McVeigh (or whatever his name is) done the Oaklohoma bombings they never brought up his religion? Im not saying Osama and his gang are right, or Timothy dude is right, im just saying that the media is fucked.
Please Feel Free to say anything u like.
Fuck these Posts get long...

@AchillesB: I do not see any difference between the Bible and the koran. They're both abused by some fanatics. Ever heard of the "holy war" or the crusades in the middle age? Its quite the same as the holy war today. The thing is that the western civilisation nhas progressed a lot further than 3-world-countries. The abuse of religion occurs mainly in "poor" countries in my opinion thats why you see in Europe not that much of fanatic movements.
Btw: Georg "I have no idea what Im talking about" bush speaks almost exactly the same like Pope Urban did in Clement 12 hundred something. The picture of the "justified" war is the same, and look what words he use: god bless america blabla.
But I agree with you that religion is nothing good, because it can be abused so easily. Oh and for the one who mocked about the alien-believers (it must be tiesto14), i rather believe in Aliens than in some God! |
Religion was always abused, for the last couple of centuries the church, the pope and other followers were abusing the bible and religion... killing people who they couldn't convert to their own religion, starting the holy wars and shit just because of a single book (Bible) that they followed, doing all kind of other shit and then justifying it by religion. Even in today's society it is being abused to the maximum. A few days ago I just read that the priests in Vatican were sexually abusing women, and when they got "busted" they apologized, and nothing happened (they are catholic priests, for God's sake, we can't judge them)... And yeah, G. Bush is trying to justify some of the actions as if the God himself would do the same thing he is trying to do.
