Actually, it's "Blanche De Chambly". Fantastic beer if you're into that style (which I am). You can find it on tap at "The Embassy" down in Kensington Market. It's a small little bar, with a whole bunch of local micro brewery beers on tap. The bar's on Augusta Ave, although it's probably not the easiest bar to spot. But just keep your eyes open, and you'll see it. "The Embassy" is opposite "Hungary Thai" restaurant.
Another good local brew is McAuslen apricot wheat ale. Really slight apricot taste, with a smooth beer finish. So for those of you that like those cherry beers, perhaps give this one a go. Again, I think you can find this on tap at "The Embassy", as well as "Local 4" which is on Dundonald Street, just near Wellesly subway.
I'm surprised not more people go for the micro brew stuff? There's nothing wrong with the standard stuff when you're out partying or whatever, but if you're just having a few quiet ones to relax/chat/whatever, then I'd definitely be hitting up the more specialized beers. |
You are the only person outside of McMaster University I've ever talked to that has tried that beer. Like Hoegaarden, but withgout the aftertaste. And yeah, I'm big on the microbrewery stuff, I'm always out looking for unique beers with something different to offer with their tastes.
