My husband read that book, was all keen to stop smoking, yada yada... he lasted 4 days.
He's "quit' pretty much every month for the past 3 years and never gone longer than three or four days. He's tried patches, lozenges, giving me the cigarettes to hide and bring out in case of "emergencies", cutting back, delaying tactics, the "stop smoking in one hour" hypnotherapy sessions - which were a screaming success, he bought another packet the very next day - everything. Everything short of NOT PUTTING THE FUCKING THINGS IN HIS MOUTH AND SMOKING THEM.
I'd be a bit more relaxed about it if it we could actually afford to be sending $30 a week up in smoke.
Sometimes I wish I was a smoker, partly so I'd understand properly, but mostly so I can quit and prove it can be done. | I went through all that, and the hypotist I just walked around the corner! However I have been a nonsmoker for years now and I was a chainsmoker. I don't know if they are in Tasmania but I went to Smokenders. I went to the intro session with a girlfriend who wanted to stop and they convinced me to give it another try. Best thing I ever did! From what I've read about the book it uses a lot of the same techniques. The difference is you're doing it with other people and supported all the way, they tell you what to do and when to do it. Don't know how much it costs now but it's worth every cent!!
