I think it's different when you're married, or at least living together as opposed to "dating".

I think when you're in a relationship, but not living together, it's assumed that you're going to be spending most of your time with your significant other, even though you don't have plans.....As opposed to when you're married or living together, you're automatically together all the time, so going out with your friends here and there without making plans in advance isn't a big deal.

unless you really like the girl/guy you're with and are really into getting to know her/him better, spend more time and give her/him exclusive priority, so to speak, then I understand that... but usually there should be NOTHING to prevent you from going out and meeting new people, getting to know a couple of girls here and there, make new friends, etc... we are social beings, and why limit yourself to one person only.
