I don't know why everyone's saying these two genres are incompatible. I'm managing pretty well myself. The two genres actually have a lot in common, when one gets down to it. It's about time something new got infused into the trance sound (why not rapping?), and it's about time rap started to vary its rhythms subtly over the course of a tune. Why not combine the two?

Pretty soon, all EDM will be intelligent raps over three different sped up breakbeat tracks with slowly developing hoover melodies and an ambient wash all over a funky bassline.

Wheee!

but the fact that you even mentioned that is straight up ignorance. unintellible basslines do not define hip hop. if you like classical music so much, check out "jedi mind tricks". you might be surprised. or actually, don't check bother it out, and just continue to rant on how hip hop isn't real music.

how about this: trance sucks, all it is, is beepy sounds with a constant beat and some offbeat bassline.

whatever man, on second thought, you win. i'm not tryina start a fight and get on bad terms with you TAs. pdm and kopi, i still got respect for you all even if our musical opinions differ, and even though i heavily disagree. whatever.

so in conclusion, you're right: hip hop sucks, it's not music, and it's only for uneducated black people ("niggas")that live in the ghetto. i'm not arguing anymore.

Sry man, but just the idea of remixing a hip hop track using trance makes me puke, I would end up creating something way different and then it wouldn't be a remix, why? because Hip Hop does not offer anything musically, one of the weakest genres of music today, yeah, it is popular, but the popular is not always what is good , and this is no exception.
And if you don't wished to be attacked then please do not attack us proposing a remix for your genre, that is an insult to our culture and musical taste, I know there are some hip hop forums where you can offer someone to do a remix, go there, and leave us alone, free us with your overreacting and arrogant attitude.

speak for yourself... while i dont agree completely with this guys attitude, at least he is trying something new. and not ALL hip hop is the same as the shit you hear on peak time radio. there is good stuff out there, especially older stuff. sure alot of the stuff we hear these days is all about bling bling, hoes and cars, but as far as im concerned that isnt hip hop, its pop music.

of course hip hop offers something musically, its all about rhythm... rhythm is a musical quality. i think you are quite narrow minded if you truely believe that hip hop isnt music. that goes for everyone with the same attitude. just like your average hip hop fan thinks that trance is shit based on what he or she hears on the radio (dj sammy, scooter)... alot of you guys think that hiphop is shit based on what you hear (Kano, G Unit)...

but yeah, its a bit off of this dude to come in here and talk to people like shit. but seriously guys, stop this petty battle about whos genre came first and whos is better, grow up!

I will explain you just what he said:

Go to the center, pick up 10 guys, give them a sampler, a beatbox and ask them to try to do hip hop, I ensure you in 2 months you will listen some tunes, now take the same 10 guys, give them a cello, viollin, even better, ask them to write a score and in 2 months you will see they dont have nothing.
Plz, stop showing ous the lack of arguments from your part and stfu my hypocrital friend.

im sorry but that post makes almost no sense...

This seems a bit senseless to me.
You get guys posting all sorts of stuff on the forum anyways that isn't always trance related.

Why does it have to be such an issue?

Besides, take a vocal sample, vocoder it and make some really dirty tech trance or electro house out of it.

He who dares wins and all that.

Cheers
Nem
