I think PVD should of got it back in 1999 to 2001 when he was at his peak, but not anymore more. TPOD2 was pretty weak in mixing and very else. Armin is starting to be the best trance dj now. I see him up there with Sasha. Sasha had a good year. Fundication CD release with the whole Abelton stuff going on. I see Sasha and Armin being in the top two this year. PVD and Tiesto soon to follow.

although it should be g&d...
i hope it goes to armin. the man is extremely educated in the music and his asot shows are awesome, always introducing people to new music. plus he really knows how to work the crowd and make people dance.
pvd deserves it though. a few years ago more than now.
but it should still be g&d.

No way armin will be no.1 this year. Meet him - sure he's a nice guy, but he simply doesn't have the clout or history of someone like Paul van Dyk. I'm not a massive PVD fan, but he is just perceived as a bit more expensive by people I think. I'm sure his fees are much higher than armins, for example. Armin is not quite charismatic enough, and he is blatently trying to copy tiesto (e.g. Armin Only "but it's not a concert, honest") which comes across as desperate. I think you need to be far more inventive to win people over from tiesto.
Tiesto will probably be number 1 because he has played to the most people. It's just a popularity thing. The more touring the more votes, unless you're really shit. I don't mean to bash Armin, but let's face it the artist album he released this year is pretty dreadful, but because he has released an album even more people know of him. Again more chance of votes. More exposure. As much as I love it, in dance music it seems there more room for mediocrity than other music!
I'd rather tiesto wasn't number 1 because I don't think he's that talented at the things I respect (making good music). But it's not about talent, is it?
Maybe I'll eat my words if armin is number 1 next week!

Yes, but history is absolutely relevant. Why do you think some DJs still come high in a so called bad year? You boys are a pedantic bunch at times, ya know.
