Almost positive that shulgin is still alive.. I think you're thinking of Huxley, but the LSD didn't kill him.. he was on his death bed, and wanted to go out in style, so he took a tab on the way out.

If you haven't read the doors of perception, you should.. it's short, and it's his description of his first mescaline trip (which is the equivalent to E I guess for his time).

man i love reading those type of stories.

i once saw a website about this guy who kept drawing the same picture thoughout his lsd experience... and u can totally tell when he was peaking just by looking at the drawings.
