"23lbs of muscle mass and your into your 4th month???????"
This is possible, not for most - but for some.
"and you don't need protein shakes or vitamin supplements if you're eating right and getting enough of daily amounts."
Yeah but join the real world buddy. To get everything you need from food, you need to eat alot of it...which also comes with alot of calories. Supplementation does fill a necessary gap for some people.
"in fact if you know exactly what they put in that powder to call it protein, you'd be really surprised."
Proof???
"too much vitamins could deteriote your digestive tract and enzyme activity in your stomach."
Absurd. Which vitamins cause this? I suppose vitamin C?
"don't go out and drink protein shakes and vitamin supplements if you don't know what the fuck is going on in this world of kinesiology and nutrition."
Absurd and elitist. Supplements are regulated. And the Canadian gov't is quite strict. Christ we can't even buy Stevia at very many places in Canada! What's your fear of supplements? Your taking what the forth year nutrition prof. has fed you as gospel. Mistake!
"only 5-10% of protein is used for energy substrates."
Yeah but alot of the rest of it used in its amino acid form for hormone production. In the gentleman asking for advices' case and most importantly, natually produced testosterone.
And for God sakes don't talk to a dietician either....they are waaay behind in thinking on this stuff too. They'll speak to you like this guy did..... |
wow looks like my statement made someone very angry. i'm not getting into arguments with you cuz there's just no point in wasting time. bottom line is what i wrote is backed up by university textbooks. and if you can't trust university textbooks and professors then who do you trust in this world?? the school of kinesiology and health sciences at york university is in top 5 kinesiology schools in canada and has a high rating. so you tell me, if what you're saying is that the profs teach us bullshit and the textbooks are false, where should i go to get my health education???
and by the way, about what they put into protein whey is extra vitamins and minerals that your body doesn't need if you're eating healthy and getting enough of it from your diet. stuff like lactates, phosphates, chlorides, citrases, oxide, ferrous iron, b-complex vitamins like riboflovin, the list goes on. and other stuff such as artificial flavours, aspartame, salt + syrop oils, which aren't the best thing for your body. basically if you're gonna take artificial protein, what i was saying is talk to a professional in the field, not just some random dude at the nutrition store.
and too much minerals do cause problems to digestive tract over time. nothing is good when you take too much. blueberries are good for you because of antioxidants let's say, but if you take 10kg of blueberries every day...you see where i am going with this?
i'm a kine graduate from one of the top schools in the country, certified nutritionist and fitness conditioning coach. i know my stuff! not everything, not close to everything b/c this field is very deep, but i know stuff most people don't in this field. so please don't go bashing @ me b/c unless you have something that's proven by facts, i will rather take that as a learning experience. so far, you haven't proved me anything. 23 lbs of muscle mass in 3 months is impossible again for someone who's starting at that weight. no matter how much they train!
